Hi all,
here's my attempt at a notablog, which, true to name, is not a blog. I'll be very loosely reporting on my progress with not 1, not 2, but 3 (three!) armies in progress. There's no Epic or BFG - yet. The T06G will cater for that, and then I'll add a post To6g bit too.
But to begin with, the armies are:
WH40K - Necrons
I've had it up to my receding hairline with chaos in 40K, so I'm finally getting a new army - Necrons. I've got over 2000 points, but I'd not managed to decide on a colour scheme in years - I like the metallic one, but I wanted to try something different. The answer is - well, you'll see.

WHFB - the Empire
I've had it up to my receding hairline with chaos in WHFB.... er, deja-vue, anyone? Anyway, Tom's consistent Imperial enthusiasm in WHFB had spurred me on to build up the old Empire army. There will be cannon (Chaos has practically no shooting, and I want some - no, lots!), and knights, and my favourites, the free companies. Each lot will be lead by a character, and although I won't use all of these in a tourney size battle, I'll have a good fluffy background to these guys. The free co.s will include several refugees from Mordheim, and will include a witch hunter co. (with extra-added weirdos); a chaotic lot (eh?); a bottom-of-the-barrel unit; and - well, something different.

LOTR-Uruk Hai
I like the LOTR models, and the Uruks seem an easy paint job - famous last words. I also like the pike models, and the berzerkers were great in the movie. So - The white hand gets its turn at my work station.

Work in progress:
40K - test-Necron completed, and I actually managed to get it done with less than a cm of paint thickness...
WHFB - I'd begun this army ages ago, never finidhing more than 6 or 7 models. I'm restarting in with a bit of concern for colours - I prefer red and yellow, but this will only be a unifying theme. For starters I'm completing the Mordheim sorcerer Nicodemus - I'd bought him half-finished from a friend who starts several armies and then sells most of them a low prices. Anyway, nice big hefty wizard this, and I'm finishing him off looking a bit stained and grey-haired. The red-yellow theme is represented only by his hat feather, yellow with a red tip. The big man will obviously be one of the wizards, and will lead a good part of the Mordheimers.
LOTR - well, I'm cleaning up a berzerker. Niff 'said.
Cheers all. Next update in 2020.
:D

Lol, yup we are kinda kindred spirits there!

Lets hope you don't share my losing streak with them... I have now replaced my wizard model with a 28mm harry potter model... seemed more appropriate :'(

Can't get worse than with my Chaos army. Can't remember when I last managed to cast a spell, and my characters - with one notable exception - were a load of cat litter contents. And I don't mean the bits I use on bases...  :(  :p

Capitalise on codex escalation my friend!

Looking forward to this 'V', should be very entertaining
I too have bucket loads of Uruks (in fact loads of most LOTR armies) and like them a lot, the beserkers are great. 40K I don't do at all, though perhaps a Sisters army at some stage nor WHFB 'cept for a handful of elves, both dark and wood.

Ummm, do you mean ebony?  :p

Ok, that was a daft one.  :{

Entertaining, if you're patient enough to monitor this thread which should progress at geological rates.  :{  :oo

Hi all - progress:
Empire - well, not much, but I'll just list the old models which are complete and which will form part of the army -
one mortar
8 free company types
one crossbowman
If anyone wants to see them, I'll post pics; meanwhile, Nicodemus the wizard is attached.

LOTR - I just assembled an Uruk Shaman and undercoated him and his berzerker colleague in black (ok, T06G kept me busy).
:{

40K - see next post!

40K - one Necron complete, and I planned the army, which will have lots of basic Necs - I'm afraid of phase-out! A handful of skimmers will be around too, though...

Here's the fluff - an ancient underground store sealed by the Ad. Mech has been raided by Hive gangers, who found loads of archaeotech which proved to be useless mannequins... mannequins with weapons which could not be fired. The gangers vandalised the plase spraying graffiti all over. Eventually, someone pushed a button somewhere....

Here's specimen no. 1 .

Him again, back side view. Quite restrained, actually....

I wonder what size graffiti would fit on the side of a Monolith......  :oo

Though the graffiti would have nothing to do with Necrons though...

Remember the height that graffiti artists can reach, so maybe only the lower half would be painted.

This Google Search shows what I mean.

Find some pictures of graffiti you like and copy that.

That should, of course, have been brake. Not break. Sometimes my typing driver gets confused and presses two keys in a wrong order...
