Hi all, here's my attempt at a notablog, which, true to name, is not a blog. I'll be very loosely reporting on my progress with not 1, not 2, but 3 (three!) armies in progress. There's no Epic or BFG - yet. The T06G will cater for that, and then I'll add a post To6g bit too. But to begin with, the armies are: WH40K - Necrons I've had it up to my receding hairline with chaos in 40K, so I'm finally getting a new army - Necrons. I've got over 2000 points, but I'd not managed to decide on a colour scheme in years - I like the metallic one, but I wanted to try something different. The answer is - well, you'll see.
WHFB - the Empire I've had it up to my receding hairline with chaos in WHFB.... er, deja-vue, anyone? Anyway, Tom's consistent Imperial enthusiasm in WHFB had spurred me on to build up the old Empire army. There will be cannon (Chaos has practically no shooting, and I want some - no, lots!), and knights, and my favourites, the free companies. Each lot will be lead by a character, and although I won't use all of these in a tourney size battle, I'll have a good fluffy background to these guys. The free co.s will include several refugees from Mordheim, and will include a witch hunter co. (with extra-added weirdos); a chaotic lot (eh?); a bottom-of-the-barrel unit; and - well, something different.
LOTR-Uruk Hai I like the LOTR models, and the Uruks seem an easy paint job - famous last words. I also like the pike models, and the berzerkers were great in the movie. So - The white hand gets its turn at my work station.
Work in progress: 40K - test-Necron completed, and I actually managed to get it done with less than a cm of paint thickness... WHFB - I'd begun this army ages ago, never finidhing more than 6 or 7 models. I'm restarting in with a bit of concern for colours - I prefer red and yellow, but this will only be a unifying theme. For starters I'm completing the Mordheim sorcerer Nicodemus - I'd bought him half-finished from a friend who starts several armies and then sells most of them a low prices. Anyway, nice big hefty wizard this, and I'm finishing him off looking a bit stained and grey-haired. The red-yellow theme is represented only by his hat feather, yellow with a red tip. The big man will obviously be one of the wizards, and will lead a good part of the Mordheimers. LOTR - well, I'm cleaning up a berzerker. Niff 'said. Cheers all. Next update in 2020.
