the salamender was originaly planned to be used as a command vehicule in the IG arty company. It was stripped off because the mini was late for the realease. Now here it come... as simple as that. In the same way, they have a Capitol Imperialis in Progress. Will you all complain when it'll get out ? We simply receive IG, Ork and Marines army for now, because those are the released army. Next will follow the Eldars, Siege Masters and Feral orks, (Or Black templars ?) so we get to see the IG siegeMatser stuff - which are mainly new mini, the Salamender is but an exception those last deays - and some Feral ork stuff... i guess they keep the Eldar new toys for later...
This simply is the planned release. Dont tell me GW always forget about Chaos when we had a worldwide campaign last yuear and another this year, all with Chaos receiving most background added to GW universes; i think we can be confident that the Chaos armies will be very good.
If we can judge by the "Playtest army work schedule", Chaos will be next, both Space marines and lost and damned. Yes, the Schedule is planning for a long time, but even GW core game get about 3 codex/armybooks for 2 years, not much more; we Just can't consider anything FW realeased as real model. The FW distribution mode can't allow that. We get lists and rules for almost everything existing for the game, and i think those lists are quite better than the quick 3 pages list for any armies in the 40K book for example. The eldar army list is playable for a long time - it allready had good blance last summer, even if the list is not totally finished even now.
Chaos is getting more and more focus from player, and updated lists are on the road.
I sometime wonder if you'll ever stop complaining. A game you seem to like quite much is re-released in a quite good edition (i think we can all say that, i'd personnaly even say those are the best rules - nostalgia apart), with very nice looking minis - for most, also depend on your taste -, and quite a good success -surprising GW themselves - which seem to indicate the game will get good and durable support (just like Warmaster, Inquisitor, BFG, and other SG game receive continuous support as well), and maybe more considering the success. Don't you think it may be time to cheer up a little, and get to something else than constantly cursing this or that mini, this or that schedule decision, Game designer, Mini sculptor, etc ? I'm certainly for criticism, but sometimes it does seem a bit systematic and not quite constructive. You even complain about getting too much minis...
we got a good game, good minis, and some sign the game is selling well - hell, we even got an EPIC article in French WD to get along the european release of the game, something that was said to never ever happen... So maybe we can get to smile sometime ?
