This was a great event following the successful founding event in Berlin. I will put up some battle reports later but I think all the teams came out of it with great credit, apart from Team UK North that is now descending into internal recriminations following their embarrassing defeat to Team UK South!!!!!!
The obvious thing is that the UK Teams finished highest, but I felt that this was more down to army lists than quality of play. I felt all of my opponents were capable players and that with slightly different armies they would be challenging for higher placings. Therefore I feel that Team UK should not be complacent going to Sweden, as I am sure the European Teams will be researching lists and come back even stronger next year.
I think there were the following positives that each team brought to the event:
1. Team UK - You had to admire their ruthless efficiency in destroying all of our hopes and dreams
2. Team UK South - Fair to say we surprised everyone with our performance including ourselves!
3. Team UK North - Great bunch of lads who I'm sure everyone enjoyed playing
4. Team Viking - They had some quality play and I predict with home advantage and their strongest players available they will be competing for the top prize next year.
5. Team Germany - They may not have brought the most competitive lists but they did bring some of the most varied and strikingly different ones. Home made models and armies you don't see much in the UK such as World Eaters were a very welcome sight.
6. Team France - With typical French style their armies looked amazing.
