So after several weeks I have finally managed to paint ...
1 Squad
Okay, so not the most impressive amount of painting done

, but I decided to fully paint 1 squad and rhino to make sure I was happy with the look. Then I should be able to production line the rest.

Overall I am pretty happy with the result after not painting much for several decades and I am sure things will get neater.
Scheme wise, I basically followed the normal Dark Angel/Salamander scheme that GW use, so:
Base: Caliban Green
Shade: Biel-tan Green
Layer: Warpstone Glow
Highlight/Drybrush: Moot Green
I then went over the shoulder pads and metal items with black before painting them Leadbelcher.
The only thing that I don't like is the sergeant is very black/dark due to the shading, shoulder pads and face, so I am tempted to break away from the norm (Salamanders are supposed to have dark or ebony skin) and give him a normal flesh tone face to help break up the miniature. I tried giving him dark brown skin, but you can't really see much difference.
Obviously the bases haven't been painted yet, but I plan on doing them a typical grey.
Also haven't done any squad/company markings yet as I need to decide whether I will follow the older ones from back in the day (the colours for the standard codex 10 companies) or follow the current Sally 7 company set up (which isn't used in NetEpic).
