Hi Guys,
Just wanted to say a massive thanks to everyone I met yesterday.  I had an awesome time, and topped it off nicely with 3 really enjoyable games.
Despite the drubbing I received from Gavin in game 1 and his highly educational 'lesson' whilst performing a clipping assault on my intermingled formations, I really enjoyed it! Gavin; a massive thanks to you sir for taking the time to take me through everything during our game. Much appreciated.
You'll be pleased to know I learnt much from our game, didn't make the same mistakes again (only news ones instead...), and even ended the day with a win.
Game two was against Marcus, another player making his tournement debut.  Great game with high casulties on both sides.  Highlight for me being the two detachments of Assault marines which jumped out of a T-hawk, rushed into a combat, got soundly beaten an promptly rushed off again!  The remaining two stands somehow ending the game helping contest his own blitz!
Finished the day against Sam and his execellently modelled Orks, including a 950pt warband riding along in 4 gunfortresses!
I'd like to make an apology at this point.  In my first game against Gavin I (very quickly) developed an unerring ability to throw nothing but 1's and 2's.  This bounced back against poor Sam. In a big way.
My ability in game 3 to through critical after critical against all his war engines actually left me feeling guilty!  Blowing his Landa + onboard warband out the sky as it attempted a ground assault on turn 1 was just a sign of things to come.  By the end of the game I (iirc) think they had all suffered the same fate.
Another really enjoyable game against a great opponent who didn't let his misfortune stop him smiling.
All in all a great day and looking forward to next time I can attend. ÂÂ
Cheers
Reedar/Darren
P.S. I've found a bag of fancy dress in my boot!  Ryan/Glynn/Russ - anyone want to claim it?
P.P.S. Speaking of cars.  A word of warning to anyone undertaking a road trip involving MoK navigating; buy SatNav!!!!
Cheers all
