Heh.  A friend of mine is in this same situation.

His wife is from Thailand.  They had 2 wedddings in Thailand - one traditional Buddhist ceremony in the hill country where here father is from and a "western" wedding (which is really a Thai take on the western traditions and a bit... off compared to what we normally think of as a wedding).  Then once the immigration paperwork was done in the US, they immediately signed a marriage certificate.  Later that was followed by a traditional wedding.

So, only 2 countries, but 4 weddings following 4 different cultural traditions (Buddhist, Thai-western, courthouse-steps, Episcopal).

Of course, not only do they not forget the dates to any of them, we've accused them of adding made-up dates to use as excuses.  "Um... no, we can't go because... er... it's our wedding anniversary... yeah... which one?... oh, the third one..."

That makes ours seem positively normal! We signed the legal documents the day before the ceremony, although we did a Buddist blessing a few days before the ceremony (why does a culture that spends so much time kneeling down, not invent the rug or carpet?), but had the engagement ceremony the morning of the wedding, and had a 'modern' event. So, we have an anniversary weekend... or two days mid-week. We got our documents translated, so we didnt need to go through the entire thing again over here.

L4 - 3 receptions.  They didn't have one for just signing the cert.

CS - They had a total nightmare with INS.  They started when they were engaged and after 18 months of waiting on the INS, decided they had enough.  Unfortunately, the fiance visa is different than the marriage visa and if you change you have to start over.  If you don't tell the INS you got married, then it's immigration fraud.  So... they got married in Thailand and didn't tell the US.  He came back to the states and lived without her for several more months.  Once the paperwork came through, she hopped a flight that same day and they went straight from the airport to the courthouse.

The trick is to engrave into the rings the date. That is "lovely" for her and very handy note for you

That's what we did ("TRUST AND LOVE 6-5-99).  It worked out until I lost my wedding band.  Not only have I been in a perpetual dog house since it came up missing, but my wife tells me the next one will be inscribed with "DON'T LOSE THIS ONE DUMMY"

Haha. I tell you I was relieved when my wife confessed to losing her ring, now no censure may be given :)

Reception wise the wedding in Rajastan was the bast. The Indians can be oddly pragmatic and in this case have the reception before the ceremony, which of corse far fewer attend, after already having had the food, dancing (dancing girls and one crazied dervish in our our case) and other such reception type activities.

Our anniversary (15 years this year) is always on or within a day or Thanksgiving.
Easy to remember!

Yen and I were married to our ex-spouses on the exact same day - June 2, 1990.

So perhaps June 3 would be a good selection?

Coincidentally, June 3rd is my ex's birthday.
