I just thought I'd chip in to say that I too love BSG.
Pretty much nothing on TV beats the moment the Galactica teleported into the atmosphere above New Caprica, fell 10,000 feet (Launching Viper aircraft all the while) and then teleported out again half a second before it hit the ground... the BANG-WHOOSH of air rushing back in again as the Galactica teleports a second time, scattering dust and sand everwhere, really sells the moment.
This was probably the coolest thing I have ever seen on television... EVER.
There are some runner-ups (Stargate Atlantis and the big attack on the Replicator homeworld - I won't spoil it but it rocked in a big way).
Razor was IMO excellent. Gritty, depressing, vindictive, violent, flawed - a true reflection of how real people would react under immense pressure.
Season 3 had a pause and a change in tone, but I really felt they did what was normal development of the characters and the story threads that have been developing. I think there were two episodes where I said, "Hmm, okay but not impressive." Compare that against other shows though and we are all on the winning end with BSG.
Back on Season 4 though. The whole thing feels like they are building the conclusions to every story thread simultaneously. In other words, they aren't going to answer why Baltar keeps getting visions of Six (and vice versa), then answer about questions about the final five, then reveal the fifth, etc. I may be wrong but it seems like they are just going to save almost everything for the last 3-4 episodes and just floor audiences.
