G2S was indeed great but his sequel "Collapse" was just not in the same league IMO.
If you liked G2S you might enjoy "From Dawn to Decadence : 500 Years of Western Cultural Life 1500 to the Present" by Jacques Barzun.
I'd set aside a couple of epochs to read it though. It crams a lot of material in.

Finally got myself a copy of "The Steel Tsar" and finished it up the night before we got in. ?
Thus I got to read the whole Bastable Trilogy on Deployment!
Lots of good Airship and VSF action!

Finished reading the first of the conan anthologies. Man those stories are great! Cant wait to play D&D on Saturday.

Hi Guys,
I just finished reading H. Beam Piper's "Space Viking," a true sci-fi classic.
It's easy to see why Traveller's authors were so inspired by it.

and Zukav's "Seat of the Soul", plus studying M/S's PF draft ! ? Just got the new W/D (311 IIRC?), has a pic of a F/W 40K (!) scale Warhound in urban camo ! 
BTW ... did any of you watch the HBO series "Rome" ?! The History Chan. had something to do with it ... so the uniforms, weapons, etc. looked great ! Not to mention the sex and violence !!! 
But it was very entertaining and full of historical details, not to mention pretty women and heroic Legionaries etc. !
