Morning all!
Thanks for a legendary birthday, I am now one step closer to that coveted ASBO that Maame keeps threatening. Friday night was fab, groovy to see all the chums brought together again . We drank ourselves to oblivion - with the exception of Maame and Emi who were designated drivers (Maame not drinking? What happened there? My world is all askew!) and danced like we were John Travolta incarnate.... well most of us did at any rate! I have a very vague memory of the night so can give you highlights in my scattered memory but Maame will have to fill in the blanks or report on any inaccuracies that have crept in via absinthe hallucinations *quickly checks ears are both intact*.
The night began well with the chain-smoking girlies being accosted by one of my neighbours - the nice one none the less, who informed them that they needed to remain silent as there children trying to get to bed. That neighbour doesn't have any kids... (unless there is some kind of bizarre Michael Jackson style 'friendships' going on in there) I think the girls were just chatting mildly... anyway - Maame fobbed him off, and he departed. It does need to be pointed out that this was before 10PM so was quite legal.
We arrived at Jaks only for my GF to be rejected for being under 18, we had to get Robin to get her past security by signing forms that made out that we were employees of Odeon and thus over 18. As duty manager he was able to authorise us to be allowed in and we got 'V.I.P' tickets.... they just gave us free entrance but you know - kinda cool.
Began dancing almost instantly after chasing round the club attempting to locate Ben. Don't remember much of the dancing except for a vague sensation that Ben and I had become world champion dancers... that could well be the Absinthe though. Some female chav creature kept strolling into my dancing space, so in my flailings got bopped a few times, thankfully her BF just moved her to a safer distance. Ben and I tried to get on the podium and dance, but were forcibly removed by bouncers. Had to drop the GF home so missed the life 'Village People' act on stage, which was more than moderately disappointing. Arrived back at the club in time to join Ben's conga line of.... well Ben and I - plus Emi for the briefest of moments until she realised just how much carnage our conga was causing. We curled through the dance floor, knocking drinks and chavs all over the place, then mounted the podium and conga'ed across that sending chavs reeling and generally causing havoc. Last memory the night was dancing to Grease and being dead chuffed that I knew all the moves.. I don't remember know all the moves now though - so I may have improvised slightly. Oh and I managed to blow a closets cover accidentally, by pointing and bellowing - 'I know him! He is gay and works at fudge, he starred in adult movies!' not my most tactful moment.
Saturday, I woke at nine, head clear as a bell, no hangover, I was so chuffed! All that fun and no retribution, but alas instead it just turned out that I was still drunk and around the 12 the hangover kicked in and I passed out till 6. Not sure what I did that night, think I just chatted a lot to various people on MSN.
Sunday - went shopping during the day and played LEGO Star Wars (amazing party game) with Ben, it is so funny! Then went to 'Ask' in Berko with the missus. Ate consummate amounts of food and then retired for another late night drawing.
Monday, picked up Emma at 8.15, then drove to Bath for brunch with Percy, bright sunshine lit up Bath and we had a pleasant stroll and a really nice English breakfast, although technically it had been cooked in the continental style. We then drove down to Bournemouth, haven't been there since the fun run when I was 14, so was nice to frolic in the sands, paddle in the sea and generally act like a dandy in shorts. The sub zero temperatures were slightly off putting but we enjoyed it none the less and got to have fish and chips on the sand. The drive was quite pleasant, but we ended up doing around 400 miles in one day which does tend to make one sore in all sorts of unusual places. Arrived home at 10:30 and crashed into my bed after faffing about for an hour.
