How about shipping to Malta?
I'm interested in  the manticore, deathstrike, griffons, bombards, Command landraider.

Er - maybe I should move to the trades area?

cheers!

I e-mailed G/W US yesterday, Primarch and still have not got a reply ... ???   But I'll let you know once I get an issue of Fanatic, which may be weeks from now !? ???   My recommendation for Archive Epic, if Athmos's generous offer does not pan out, is Ebay, Bartertown or Epic Yahoo.  On the latter two sites if you post a "want ad" up for what you are looking for, many times someone is willing to deal.  On Yahoo, yesterday, someone was looking for 3 SM2 S/goths (IIRC) and today ... someone was willing to deal.  And of course you can always ask here too !  :;):

I ordered issue 1 a week or two back, but they couldnt do subscriptions then. I havent tried more recently, but now you've reminded me I think a call may be in order in the next few days to find out!

I got an advance order for issue one as well. Originally, I was told that subscriptions should be available from 14th April, but I have not tried yet.

I copied my post in the trade section; you can answer me there (for ease of tracking interest), tell me how much blister you want; usually there's no more than 2 or 3 availables, but i'll tell you what i've been able to find.

I will seethe condition for sending to malta; but It's not too far away from France, and i think it won't be too expensive.

Moderators, feel free to delete my previous post in this thread, as i've made a copy of it in the appropriate forum.

I managed to get a copy of Swordwind at the weekend froim my local games store.

Swordwind is a supplement for the Epic Armageddon game system containing full rules for using Eldar, Feral Orks and the Death Korps of Krieg in your games of Epic Armageddon.

As with the Epic Armageddon rulebook it has made extensive use of the Sabretooth artwork from the CCG, I know I would have preferred more photographs of actual Epic miniatures and games. Having said that there are some really nice photos of the Eldar forces and the new Feral Orks.

I do like the steam Gargant, but I am not sure about the other new Feral Ork releases, especially when you compare them to the Forgeworld releases (which can not be used in the Feral Ork list as it stands).

The Eldar Heavy Tanks which are designed by Will Hayes are excellent and much better than previous models. As these are based on the FW designs that speaks for itself.

Overall it is a good purchase though at ?12 slightly overpriced, should have been ?10.

Of course the prices of the Feral Orks has still to be announced and I guess I won't be able to afford the Steam Gargant or the Orkesaurus...

Hi!

I'm glad you said it...

I've had the book for sometime and had a similar opinion. Would have prefer more pictures of actual minis. I like the Epic A rulebook a lot more.

Yes, I thought it was pretty good. There are a lot of pics of the new stuff, but there could be more.  As nice as the artwork is, I prefer real pics !  Certainly look forward to the buying the new Eldar and F/Orks models. Based on the pics, looks like they are going release F/Ork Troops ?  ???

I agree with pretty much all you say Jimbo. More pics of games instead of using artwork twice please Fanatic!

I love the new Eldar models.. the superheavies are works of art, and the Revenant isn't half bad either. I was very glad that they decided to make the Avatar big again, a welcome change! :;):

I guess we should be happy to get the book at all, even at ?12, as no more published supplements are planned. :L

I agree with the comment about the pictures. I found some of the CGI ones a let down, and not at all up to the quality of the rule book. I think that I may also be the only person who actually prefers the previous Eldar SHTs as well!  :(

Yes, more pics of games and models or even line drawings. Too much pretty "fluffy" art work ! Like all the new stuff save for the Revenent (looks too much like a 40k size guy !) and the Avatar (he's too Big !) ! ?We use the old SM1 metal Eldar Commander with sword and even the E40K Av ! ? :D  Doug will probably be getting any of my extras ! :;):

Jimbo:  FW does have an Epic Orkeosaurus for $29.  I seriously doubt that the SG will be much more than that.  I would expect it to be the $30 price code.

Wow, Swordwind is the last actual publication for EpicA?? God this is going worse than I thought. Pretty lame. Well, I guess future gamers will get to thumb through two nice books covering Space Marines, Imperial Guard, Orks, Eldar, Siege Masters, and Feral Orks, and a bunch of paper print-outs of online articles.

This is really a shame. . . I just don't get it though. How was a box set released for a franchise on it's way out (Battle of Five Armies), but not Epic? I really think if they had just done a new box set that could have been released in stores versus a book, things could have gone differently.

I pass up on books all the time. Why? Becuase with a box set I get the rules AND a few minis to play with right away. Take Reaper's Warlord for example. I think the Rulebook was $25-30 I think, and each army set is $35-40 each. The Army sets each include about the same amount of minis as the two armies that are included in the starter set, which runs $60 or so. Now, I know there are a lot of ways at looking how you spend your money, but if I had the option of dropping over $100 versus $60. . . hell, even if it turned out I didn't like one of the armies included in the set, I still have plenty of cash to pick up a third army. I really think box sets are the best way to introduce someone into a game, and they are cheaper.

BTW, has anyone been to my site lately? http:www.system17.com. I posted a pretty elaborate page on table-top games most of you know about, but there might be some there that you guys don't know much about and maybe are curious on. I plan to go through my whole collection. Pretty sick, I know.

Oh well. I imagine Fanatic will last about another year before it folds. I don't think GW is going to be able to justify Jervis siting in a room almost by himself answering emails or writing up an article here or there. When the Battle of Five Armies goes down, and I expect interest to drop real soon, there won't be any big $$$ coming in to justify the Fanatic resources. And personally, I'd rather see Jervis's talents go towards something that really has a lot of resources behind it, like 40k. I hate to see Epic crumble, but if GW wasn't going to put their muscle behind it, why would I put my wallet?

In the UK the FW Squiggoth is ?15.

I am thinking the Orkesaurus will be ?15-20 ($30-$40). But from what I saw at Gamesday is nowhere near the quality of the FW model.

Even with that pricing I am guessing that the Steam Gargant will be ?25 ($50).

Logic and GW are two things that rarely mix..... :;):

What you point out is pretty much what I've been saying since before Epic A was released. Its not enough to make a game where the rules are good.

A poor game expertly marketed makes stays alive longer than a great game poorly marketed.

My objections with Epic A were never with the actual rules, but with the obvious lack of support, which was obvious from the very start.

Then again, this is beating the proverbial "dead horse", the die is cast and all we can do is enjoy whatever minis fall our way and endure the next "epic dark age".
