Hi!
Yup, true. The original army lists had Squats under the IG lists as well as thier own.

I usually fought the Squats a lone, they have a lot of Fire Power but were a bit slow. We did use the "Flank Marcher" rules from SM1, so Bikes, Trikes and Rhinos with infantry usually rolled into the flanks or behind enemy lines. Very SAS ...

Well I play SM's and IG. My SM force is just starting to be painted, I have 1000 Ultramarines to paint!!! Damn!!!
As for my IG it sits in a GW mail order box awaiting assembly.

Of course, there's world where people think that post-Modernist thought actually makes some kind of sense too! 
I'm not a big fan of Sartre or other French "philosophers." Give me the classics any day or even Machiavelli.

Two pints (erm, points even) to make.
1) Thanks for the 'push' in helping me decide to paint my Squats as IG.
Standard 3 trooper, two Heavy bolters stand look awesome as IG infantry. Chuck in a missile launcher you have a support stand. This along with the Berzerkers/Hearthguard as Stormtroopers look excellent, again, thanks all.
2) Too many people here are either buzzing their glue or drinking FAR too much (and as a scot telling you that....)
Or maybe it's part of the million points/100 LBS of figures syndrome...
