Guess what! I checked the hit counter at ROTH a few hours back, and had the honor of witnessing it to be 5001! 5001! This means that my site has lived more then just to my expectations - it went far above the number of visits I witnessed in some ghost towns some time ago (March 2004 - 4750 visitors since July 1997 and the like)

Whew: I've been busy this afternoon. Painted up 12 stands of Devastators, 20 Mole Mortars + crews, 21 Rhinos, 4 Land Raiders and two Drop Pods. My hands and neck hurt now but at least I've finally completed the units needed to finish my Ultramarines Reserve Companies.
I plan to snap a few pics tomorrow and do a page for the Lounge before Nerw Year.

Now I only need to do some Dreadnoughts, a bunch of Devastators and a few Tactical Marines for the Battlecompanies to finish my Ultramarines Chapter!

Cheers! :)

Congrats T5H! You have some good stuff in the site; I think the Index Astartes alone would be a good enough reason to visit.

On the painting front there is an extreme war weariness going on among the troops. Expecting some harsh disciplinary actions from the high command.  :L

Translation: I've lost inspiration and slid off into some kind of apathy where even mini painting is a chore and I'd rather sit in a chair reading something, preferably nothing too thought provoking.  :(  :blues:

Mojarn, I sometimes feel like that too. Sometimes actually worse. What do you need is to load some inspiring Power Metal into Media Player (or, if you prefer it, Winamp), wear a pair of earphones and set the thing to almost maximum volume. Sheed dose of decibels will get you up and running in no time.
I find Way of the Warrior and Heeding the Call by Hammerfall very good for this purpose.

Works even better when you sing the lyrics while listening the song. Guess what do I do when I'm depressed.

Or, in my case, Mahler's 6th or Shostakovitch's 5th or 7thg or 12th, ot Tchaikovsky's 4th, or.....  :D
Congrats on the viewer count T5H.  :D  :D

Mahler's 6th

Personallly I prefer the 1st. Especially the intro. When heard on a really good stereo or even live (I had the privilege once of hearing the national symphonny orchestra during rehersals)

I often listen to either classic music or Jazz. Sometimes also some really acid stuff from the 60'ies -you know the stuff which goes on for an hour or so.
I also really like to turn on the TV and have Discovery, CNN or the History channel running in the background. A good way of broadening your horizon while excersizing your hobby IMO. :;):

Cheers! :)

No matter what your taste in music is, I think T%H is right. Play some music. It has been proven music activates your brain. It helps elevate the creativity and higher functions in the brain.

I love to listen to World and New age myself when I paint. To each his own.

I pulled myself together and cleaned up my workbench. More out of necessity than because I really wanted to -basically I was running out of free space. ...and maybe cleaning up is a bit of an exaggeration... I sort of scooped it up into a bag. Oh well, Rome wasn't built in a day...

Anyway: i discovered a couple of unfinished planets for bfg which i painted up.

Cheers.:)

Hi,

Decided to paint and organise my unpainted stuff a bit more today, starting with my BFG ships. Just those that came with the box set, but enough to keep me occupied anyway.

These two fleets, enforcers for Necromunda, the end of my Dwarf BB team and the details on my Epic Speed Freeks have all been moved to the top of my painting list before I begin on my IG Epic force. May leave that for round two of TOFG.

Cheers,
Freshmetal

Hi all,
I've been busy with 40K SMs, but have found time for the Ordinatus X-(forgotten-what-name-I'd-given-it). The idea for this came from the pic of a surface mining machine posted ages ago.
Cheers all.

And here's a second view - note the captured Orky weapon used by the Ad Mech in an attempt to understand teknologee....

PS - must buy a tripod - my camera hand is none too steady, and I havn't had a glass of champagne yet, either.

Its a great combo between a medieval seige engine and archaic tech-magi inventiveness!

Nice one vanvlak! :)
