I've playing hours of games on the PC recently, most unlike me! :;):

Completed Homeworld: Cataclysm, and have made a good start on Planescape Torment....

The modelling bench beckons tonight though, hoping to finish a pair of gangers I started.... last summer...

The Dysartes Forgeworld MEGA-Load:

I knew I forgot to mention something - my Forge World order of credit-card-meltingness showed up on Firday, including the following:

- Epic Ruined Librarium
- Epic Librarium
- Epic Administratum
- Epic Censorium
- Epic Marauder Destroyer (x2)
- Epic Vulture Gunship (x2)
- Epic Conqueror (x2)
- Epic Thunderer
- BFG Space Marine Gladius Frigate (x2)

I didn't realise just how big those buildings are when compared with the figures - the Censorium, especially, is huge!

Anyway, a quick question - I know Tuffskull, amongst others, has mentioned using a larger brush than GW sells for drybrushing Epic & BFG figs. Can anyone recommend what sort of size brush has been seen as "best", and any manufacturers that are on sale in the UK?

Cheers.

Hi Dysartes,
I don't know what the largest size of GW brush is, but I've found a Springer Pinsel size 8 drybrush excellent for the job. The full number for this product is 2054.08-0460. You'll be meeting this again in the tale of more than 4 gamers. :D

PS - oh - lucky you! Drool  :p

Seeing as I was ordering the buildings anyway, I thought I'd make sure I got the free postage - bizarrely, by adding the Thunderers, my total (inc p&p) went down, which was nice :)

About how big is the size 8, vanvlak? That way even if I canane find that brush, I can find a substitute ;)

Hi guys - Medieval Total War is totally cool, though understand the engine and graphics were improved upon greatly for the subsequent Rome Total War. ?Nevertheless its totally cool, and addictive!

So far (playing as English) I've crushed France, conquered the Holy Roman Empire and am working my way through Italy. And nearly gotten divorced too! :)

I actually prefer M:TW (w/Viking Invasion), I think I just like the era and the fact that EVERY unit in the game developes quirks :D

Although someone shoot that blimming pope!!!

I have started Planscape twice, got a long way through it the second time - then lost my save game :(   Good game though...

So...

Friday
In the evening, in a sudden surge of inspiration, I have painted an Eldar rune on the Banshee's base. Half an hour of work and a damn fine "glow" effect on finish.
Dipped one of my Sisters of Battle into nail polish remover again.

Saturday
Taken the pics of the Banshee. Bought the chocolates, thin black card, a sheet of paper in rose pattern and a 20m bundle of red ribbon.
Played Bloodrayne.
Red an e-book set in Aliens universe and a bunch of stories by Andrew Pilipiuk (fun stuff; he writes with Pratchett's sense of humour, but his fictional universe is much more similar to ours - and has a certain "post-communist-poland" twist that makes it even more funny). ROFL.

Sunday.
Packed the chocolates.
Drawn a net for a box to pack the Banshee in. When I checked on the mock-up that it was right in shape and size, I printed it again and that time traced the net onto the black card purchased a day before. A few drops of glue and here we go - a spankin' new single-miniature box. Just an hour of work
Proceeded to paint another Eldar rune on the lid to make it even spiffier. Another hour.
Finally, I packed it and then proceeded to play Bloodrayne for a few hours and then installed MechComamnder. MC, yay! laugh:
Played Operation 4 Mission 4 and managed to complete it without any losses, be it in Mechs, weapons or pilots. And I used a wee unorthodox tactic too (3 forces - one heavy 18m/s went through the middle bridge and destroyed it; one heavy 24m/s of two Vultures and a Madcat went through the eastern bridge and, you guessed, destroyed it; finally one Cougar-W went towards the western bridge and distracted the tanks a few times so my other Mechs could get into the city before them).
Scrubbed off the paint from the Sister, using an old toothbrush. Went allright.

Today.
Just fifteen minutes ago I gave my GF the Banshee. She was quite impressed. Maybe impressed in not even the right word to express her amazement. I'm so lucky to have a GF who likes handmade gifts....

One pic of the Banshee attached, others that I have will be uploaded to my site in a few hours.

Will paint that SoB today too, I think. Gotta try the gloss color scheme when it's used intentionally...

Very, very nice TFH
I've spent the weekend doing St Celestine, a change of scale, coming along nicely though there's still a lot to be done.

Well done 5thH... The glow on the base rune is very nice, and the eye lense glass effect looks great. :)

I agree. Nice job! :;):

While on the subject of Total War: My computer just crashed (I think I overloaded the hardware) and thus corrupted my savegame file!  Now I have to resort to an old Save Game (Before I crushed the Gaul, Macedonian, Spanish and Carthagenian empires :O )

Cheers! :)

WMN - my sincere sympathies Legatus! ?But second time around you know the trciks eh?

I've been playing a more political game now I'm engaged in a three front war (!) - I propose to each princess I find. ?If they say no, I assasinate them and thus redeuce the monarchy of rival countries which allows me to slay them more easily when I invade. ?

If they say yes, I then assasinate the rest of their family so my 'wife' inherits the country and passes it along to me , which I thus get without having to fight for it. ?

Nasty eh? ?  Its effective, but reduced my popularity somewhat!

Aaah! You're a sneaky fellow Tas  :D

Well I've been playing most of the day so I managed to recapture Gaul and Spain. Carthage is close to defeat.
My only headache is up north: I managed to secure peace by allying with Gemania, Briton and Dacia. Only trouble is, that you Brits kept attacking the Germans!  :p  In the end I had to kick you off the continent and evan take London. Got kicked back out again by a rioting mob so now I'm afraid I have to extreminate the population tomorrow (Sorry about that UK folks :;):  :p )

Call me a barbarian but why use diplomatics when cold steel works just as well  :D

Cheers!

Good job WMN.

And dont feel too bad about the UK.  Its only fair that at this point in history they get stomped on - they get to invade most of the rest of the world later on dont forget! :D

Well, I've been playing MechCommander and Bloodrayne. Today I'll get to painting that Sister of Battle whom I've stripped of paint over the weekend.

Began hoarding money. Should collect a decent amount on my next birthday - let's just say that this means some major 40k purchases at that time.
