A while ago we were talking about one guy who had a large batch of minis, we thought were either knock offs or he was an employee selling off stock.

Well I saw they killed many of the auctions he had going including the three new ones he added today.

Just thought you guys would like to know.

I understand about legalities, but it's a pity. The prices were so much better than normal GW.

Well, since EBay wouldnt know a recast Reaver from their elbow, I can only assume that they had a 'polite' email from GW legal department requesting these were removed.

Here is a copy of the Email sent out:

Hi all, his items are down to zero again (following the link given above). I think it's fatal.

Well, I had gone for a couple of reavers and shadowswards from a user called "got_toys_to_play" and it seems he is not gone too.

*** Damn how the hell do u tell a caster from pics to an original model? ***?

I had originals of the models I got but they just seem shiny to me compared to GW stuff although nine of it was primed. Just badly glued together, and some slight bad details on the shadowswords but its really hard to tell.

If it is too good to be true... then it usually is.

I agree.

The only reason I thought they might not be knock offs was the quality was very high.

I thought it might be an employee buying them by the pound and selling them off on ebay. I am sure GW would not like that either, but it would help explain the high quality.

Of course, with the announcement a while ago that GW:US would be cracking down on all internet sellers of their stuff, including those sold via ebay, there is a chance that these were not targetted for casting, but just for selling.

I do hope so, but I would then have to get these checked over.  The glue used looks awful and will have to work out how to get this off

You have to remember (this rumour got blown out of all proportion) that GW were cracking down on people who were using their pictures (IP) and not just people who were selling GW stuff.

In other words you could not use GW pictures to sell GW stuff, but you could still see GW stuff.
