Quote (Magnus @ 10 2004 Dec.,09:39) | Quote (dafrca @ 10 2004 Dec.,18:29) | To set a Max price is not hard, it is real easy. The Max is the amount you would pay for the item. If you put less then that, you are setting yourself up for disapointment. |
This is only true if you assume perfectly rational (i.e. Vulcan) behaviour. But we're not Vulcans.... ? |
True, some people get caught up in the "must win" and bid more then they were wanting to pay. I agree, but the rest of what I said still stands, if you only up the bid a little and loose, too bad. If you bid your max that you would really pay for it and some psyco will pay ten times that, oh well.

If only it was so simple
What is my max bid on the psi-titan? I keep oscillating between "it's already too high, no way I'm going to waste $60+ on that piece of c**p" and "I MUST have it!! what if I don't get another occasion? It's the only Titan variant I lack! Better put in a ridiculously high bid to be sure"......

Quote (darkone26 @ 10 2004 Dec.,13:14) | hmmm I know a few who would too and I would have counted myself as possibly one of them. ?Unfortunately there is only one on sale I am sure if Epicollector loses as well he will be disappointed | I am under the impression he already has one, am I wrong?
Either way, I can save Magnus the trouble and say, unless he is willing to go much higher, he will need to ignore the auction.

I'd be willing to go into the three digits. My problem is that, if I look at it objectively, such a price is ridiculous. I could get a decently-sized army for that price on Ebay, and just convert a Warlord. Hell, I could probably build the silly thing from scratch and come up with something better.
The only thing which keeps me from forgetting about it is the fact that this is the only one of the old imperial titan variant which I'm missing (I lack both the newest metal models too, but I can't be bothered with those as I think they look horrible).
Bottom line: if I win, I'll be disappointed because I wasted so much $$$ on one piece. If I lose, I'll be disappointed 'cause I will still lack the model. A lose-lose situation...

Hi Magnus,
Like Dafrca, I know at least two people who will bid high on this item. I plan to be cautious.
Shabbat Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

Cautious as in "I'll keep my cards close to my chest" or as in "no way I'm going to spend all this money on THAT"?

However, I did just get a bonus at work, but that would just be silly.

Hi Magnus,
Cautious as in "I'll keep my cards close to my chest" or as in "no way I'm going to spend all this money on THAT"? |
I'm vacillating between the two types you mentioned.
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

I'm predicting that the PSI-titan will go for over $200.00 USD.
I know Sayeth AKA Epicollector. He has money and is obsessive about Epic. then again, that describes many of us. Then again, Sayeth has been selling and buying hundreds of dollars of Epic nearly every month on E-bay for YEARS and YEARS!
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

It's over $100.00 USD currently.
Two relative unknowns are pushing the price up.
The temptation to forget about the auction is growing for me.
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.
