I'm not sure of this, but for thick metal foil for making those excellent riveted plates you could try the foil from wine bottles that wraps around the cork, or foil from tomato puree tubes.. |
Yeah, that's pretty much the consistence: Relatively soft and bendy but still hard enough to keep in shape from a bit of wear. Basically any metal foil used for tubes and stuff should be good (if a bit expensive, unless of course you brush your teeth a lot!) I still wonter if it would be possible to ffind it somewhere in larger sheets... Perhaps somee stuff for making christmas decorations?
Cheers!

Okay, the attempt at SENMM sucked. Big time. Attempt at giving the armor a glaze of Midnight Blue sucked bigger time.
In a last resort attempt to save the minis, I went for giving the armor four (yes, four!) coats of undilluted Citadel Black Ink... Then I looked on the overall effect
"Omg! R0xx0rz teh big 1!" was the last conscious thought that formed in my mind before it suffered overload from sheer coolness of the result.
Glossy black armor... perfect.
I'm buying a pot of gloss varnish for them soon.
Combination of black hair and pale skin tone with glossy black armor and deep red edgings is just too awesome to be ignored.
Finished the GS job on the Crusader, and began painting her. Straight after applying the basecoat some minor sculpting deficiencies came to light, but I hope to cover them up with the paintjob.
The two bitz-marines also got a bit forward.
Done a bit of extra work for my Rhino gunner... I like the cabling made out of guitar strings.

Quote (TuffSkull @ 29 2004 Oct.,17:11) | Attached you'll find a stunning example of SENMM, painted NOT BY ME, but I believe by a guy known as "Zaphod" (among other guises) but please anyone correct me - its taken randomly from my collection of saved "Inspirational miniatures".
The Execution of the crome is probably the best I've seen. You'll also note that the Swords have been done with standard NMM so it shows the difference in styles quite well. | Cool Knight of the Balance.....
Way too advanced for me, at the moment I have struggled to block paint up till now, anyone know a good online guide that gives you an idiots guide? I have the tools and time, just not the ability! Mini's are too expensive to leave looking naff .

My friend has downloaded entire Crimson Thunder album (Hammerfall, naturally!), and gave me an audio CD with it yesterday. Mmmm, Hammerfall...
Finished the Marine with the Missile Launcher. Almost done through painting the flames on the female Crusader. Basecoated the Phoenix Hawk, began highlighting. When done, I'll apply a wash of Chainmail and then Chaos Black.

My bad luck is following me. This time a pair of very fine tweezers broke. Maybe you think "just a pair of tweezers", but this one was as good compared to standard ones as a scalpel is to a blunt kitchen knife.
They are by all means irreplaceable, as my mother informed me they came from German production... 50 years ago.
Just put the final touches on a character in the Hero Machine... a cute succubus. Do you think she could use some improvement?

Finished some Vanquishers, Demolishers, Valkyries and Vultures for my Desert IG yesterday. Today I've decided to do the annual Imperial Army Group shot which will probably take most of the afternoon to set up.
Cheers!
