For us, 6mm is as tall as a man... about 6 ft. ?

And I agree about the size of vehicles. ?:)

Everything is so wacky that I just go by sight now.

Some buildings that should be way off in scale such as train buildings in N-scale look better than Z-scale buildings, which should look better if one went strictly by scale.

I've also found that I can use over-size bitz from bigger kitz to spruce up my Epic buildings.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

I agree, This is what I do with my 15mm stuff as well.  :)

I have not played in a single game where someone took out a scale ruler and chacked to see it the doors on my buildings were the right size.

If it looks good, I use it, if it does not, I don't. Simple.

I agree, generally 10-15mm structures are closer to Epic scale.  The buildings that came with AT1/SM1/SM2/TL are nice, and we use them, but they really are a bit small. :)  But ... they work ! :;):

Its important to realise that in most wargames, figure scalke and gorund scale are differnet.  Otherwise you need a basketball court or simialr to simulate real (well, you know what I mean) weapon distances.

As long as you are in agreement over what can/cant be seen its all that matters- get on and PLAY! :D

Once, for fun, a freind and I took the ground scale given in his Historical game he plays and then figured out how much space he would need to play in scale to his 25mm troops.

The game he played that day on a 4' x 6' table would have taken more then six city blocks. :p

Gargants are too small relative to infantry, In one of the comics they run bikes under the belly and drop meltabombs to the underside of the thing, this would be totally impossible with the epic models. Does this matter, heck no. Epic infantry are far to big, but I would rather have it this way than having to convert the head of a pin. The bases just represent the general area they are hiding, sniping, hunting in. Same with buildings, use whatever looks good, your not going to hear me complaining. What is far more important than the scale, is the height from a line of sight gaming perspective. Does it block line of sight to a tank, titan, infantryman. Woods should be playable, if you wanted them realistic you would never be able to fit men in them.

In some ways wish I didn't have to move, but the other noticeboard is well, not very good. It's taking me a little while to read through all the stuff that is already here, is there a active topic page?... Also has Epicomms been redesigned recently. It feels much more polished.

Hi!

Yes, there was a "crash" recently and the site was redone.

Welcome to the forums.

The sliding scale has kinda bothered me, but like so many have said before, 'Does it impact my enjoyment of the game?  No.'

Topic covered.

Nice to see you again, ratty.
