OK, having finished my inventory, I got curious:
If you knew you were going to have a collection of 100,000 points, would you rather have ten armies of 10k each, four armies of 25k each, one of 100k, or one large one 60k and a couple of smaller 5k to 10k armies?
How are you/would you like to collect your armies?
dafrca.

Multiple smaller armies 5K-10K. ?
Easier to build scenarios and stories around.

Also painting can become an issue. I'm sick and tired of painting Tallarn which is my major IG army. That's why I've started the minor Cadian, Catachan, Krieg and Tech Guard armies.
For smaller armies like Marines on some 20.000, it is managable but I'd hate to paint that ammount of Orks or Nids unless I came up with a REALLY simple technique.
Cheers!

Well, I would have 10 armies at about 10k apiece. ?
Just so you could play any combination should you choose. Larger armies are pretty to look at, but not particularly usefull in a real game.
Not that I wouldnt mind having them, just that I would go the other route first.
My 2 cents, Iblisdrax.

I would take 4 x 25k size Armies. ?
That way I can have all the flexibility for Army options and take what I need for a particular battle. ?If I want, for example, all Russ and Suerheavies,- I have them - or I can take a infantry heavy force with artillery support. 25k gives me enough to have all these available and have force sizes as large as I am ever likely to need (or be able to paint).
Within that 25k force I would have different paint schemes and regts, but I still call IG nomatter what they are, IG. Same for Chaos too etc.
And a 25k force is still quite a lot of lead and plastic as we have seen - a force to be proud of and to fill the dinner table!

Four armies of of 25k or 5 of 20k...
For the same sorts of reasons that Tas has already suggested... and also because I think that number of points is about the most that I could manage by myself in a normal game! ?
Anything bigger and you start looking at games spread over a weekend, multiple players etc

I'd take CC's choice and go for the smaller armies between 5 and 10k -
Heck, it's what I actually do; so I guess I can't grumble!

I buy one or two dets. (or more, based on what you get in a box !) of everything they make and organize my TO&Es based on that. ?
Since like Maksim, I'm a collector as well as a gamer... but in recent times games are few and far between.

And they are indeed the most fun and interesting to play! I've played and umpired a couple and they have lots of extra twists and opportunities

4/5 Armies at 20/25k.
Same reason as Tas. Lots of flixability and variations within the army. Also means you can switch if you feel like a change or your opponant wants to change or battles get stale.
25k of Tau... ahh I can dream! ?
