Just a quick note from me, but in about....2 hours I'm off to Crete for a week!
So next week when the weather gets worse, think of me on a sunny beach somewhere...

Wow - been there - it's a great place. Don't omit Phaestos, and the beaches close by are a treat! And if you're in the main square in Heraklion, go to the Diamond Cafe' (excellent moussaka, by the way) and tell the owner John from Malta says hello!
EDIT - It's Crytal Bar not Diamond cafe'! Humph - something must've fowled my memory chip.
