I have started to make some headway on the NetEpic version of my list. Here is what I have found:
Infantry is the main issue between the two lists, however, I will get to them later.
Most Formations/Cards match up very close.
Examples:
Leman Russ Tank Company:
EA: 650
NE: 600
Super Heavy Bane Blade Co.
EA: 500
NE: 500
Sentinel Squad
EA: 100
NE: 100
Artillery Co. (9 Vehicles)
EA: 650
NE: 600
So if I had a collection of 1 each of these:
EA: 1900
NE: 1800
Now where it gets odd is with the troops. NE has troop formations much larger. To use an example, let?s use a Tactical Company. NetEpic has it as 32 Stands plus a Rhino for the commanders. This is 600 points. In EpicA the same ?formation? is only 13 stands at 250 points. If I up the EA formation by 3 that would give me 39 stands for 750 points.
Just for fun, let?s look at the average per stand.
EA: 19.23 per stand
NE: 18.75 per stand
About the same.
One last bit, the NetEpic rules have a lot more variations available in things like the Titans. In EA they are either a Reaver or not. No change for weapon configuration. It is what it is at 650 points. But in NetEpic, I could build a Reaver from 415 points to over 600 (675 if I arm it with one Vortex missile and 750 if I arm it with three, but that would be just cheesy).
So, unless I am missing something here is a total of our sample force:
Our four vehicle formations from above, 32 Stands of Troops (39 for EA), and 1 Reaver Titan.
EA: 1900 + 750 + 650 = 3300
NE: 1800 + 600 + 500 (armed as the EA titan) = 2900
Or a difference of about 400 points. Or NE being about 12% less.
OK, So where does dafrca stand? Well my 20k+ would drop by about 13%, but the 20k did not count the Imperator Titans or my Ordinatus Armageddon. So if we add back in the points for them I am still above 20k.

Hi!
Good analysis. Pretty much the same results I came too and as mentioned its a smaller difference between Epic A and netepic.
Try the same with marines and the difference grows.

Of course the difference is also based on the formations you own, the difference would be greater or less based on the exact formations you own.
As for the Marines, I will look at it. Should be interesting.

Well I did a quick count of my somewhat neglected IG stuff last night and it came to about 15k painted, with about another 5k unassembled. My problem is my artillery is in awkward numbers now I have to use EA foramtions.
I'm behind the play on availability (trading wise) - but does any one know, what are my chances like of getting more epic40k era bombards, manticores and basilisks?
Would it be easier to trade off odd numbers I have and get new ones from forgeworld, or should I try and trade for the extras? (At minimum 1 bombard, 1 basilisk, 2-5 manticores)

I counted the painted, in progress, and unpainted ones. I did not count troops that were not based or minis that were not assembled.
