OK, I am going to force myself to deal with my lack of epic model work by starting this diary. I realize that it will only serve to guilt me out as it will take me more time to do this then most people, but it will be fun as well.
Yes, I know I am sick.
----------------------------------------------
Here is the story. I bought an auction for the vehicles and one of the items was this Imperator Titan. It has a poor paint job, broken parts, and mising parts. The head has been replaced with an old plastic Warlord head.
So my goal is to convert it into a "Command" titan. This includes changes to the body and fixing or changing the broken parts. Final stage will be a new paint job.
So here it goes:

Here is a shot of the poor thing out of the shipment box.
Gun on top of the back tower is broken, so is a few of the smaller guns.

Yep, also some of the smaller guns have been broken off. We shall see what fun I can have with the beast. ?

Quote (darkone26 @ 14 2004 Sep.,13:36) | what were you thinking of doing to make it into a command titan? | Well, good question. I was going to replace the Warlord head. I have the landing pad from the Imperator Varient they sold through the GWUS at one point. Switch out some of the guns for other stuff. Then add some banners and as good of a paint job as I can.

there was a command head for the warlord but I dont know if thats too small.
What would a command titan normally have for weapons? Would you expect him to be at the front of a titan charge? Something I have been thinking about regarding my warlord titans before I paint them up. They had good weapon choices which gave you loads of combinations

OK, bought the plastic safe paint stripper today. Also started to collect the other bits together in one place.
Boring I know, but at least I am moving forward.

Good question on the armament of a Command Titan. My guess would be either lots of short range weaponry to drive off any enemies who get close enough. The other alternative is a mix of Very long range weapons and short range weapons (Somewhat similar to the Warmonger.) This titan would sit back comfortably at the baseline dealing out death across the board, commanding and leading firesupport for the rest of the army.
I don''t think a command titan would have very much in terms of medium range weapons nor should these be particularly tactically flexible. The artilleryspotting idea with the landing pad sounds good.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with Daf.
Cheers!
