Hi!
One way to make cacti is using foam and cutting it to an ovoid or roundish shape painting that in an appropriate color, then piercing it with all sorts of toothpicks (green ones look nice). That way you have cheap nice looking cacti.

One of my goals for today is to finish up the assembly of my trees today.
The Woodland Scenics packet I bought was TR1120, which comes with 114 trees! I also bought some foliage to glue on them.
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

Right, a little info; the trees I used for my snow scenery are made by a German company, 'Heki'... They were coded '2046' and I believe you can buy them as large boxed sets, but I've been buying mine from my local model shop in tens at 25p apiece, as and when I need them...

I have three kinds of miniature trees in my collection. So I have what may be a really silly question.
It's it reasonable to have such a different variety of trees on on same terrian board?
I know it sounds crazy. But I was just wondering.
Thanks

Why not, CC? At least if they have a similar scale appearance, anyway. I'd even put them in the same 'forest'. If anyone complains, say that your troops are fighting in the ruins of a botanical garden!

I've found that if basing trees singly that a base is needed. I know many who have used small coins, but I now prefer steel washers since they store magnetically and are still very cheap.

I also like mixed woods like in real life although I mostly have coniferous tree types.

I do the same Maksim, I spent a lot of time in the past hiding in woods! ?
Then I have my weird alien (aquarium) plants based separately... sometimes ya feel like a nut... sometimes ya don't!

I agree with Maksim. Metal washer are really useful when mounting trees as individuals. Their weight allows the trees to stay standing. I don't know if it was visible, but all the trees in my photos are mounted on metal washer like Maksim describes.
Great minds think alike...

I've been thinking that I want to try using cheap aquarium plants to make jungle modules soon.

I haven't personally done it, but a guy in our group made some Necromunda terrain from aquarium plants. Looks good. ?
I would think that it would work fine in Epic scale too. ?

*** Has anyone done this before? *** | Yes, it works great. In fact, I have found that in many cases they make great "Alien" plants.
However, two words of warning: Most have that shinny plastic look and most are made of soft plastic. So if you want to paint them to soften the shinny, then you need to use the same paints you would on the soft 1/72nd scale guys.
Me, I just used them as is.
