I'm afraid I only ever mustered 20k:D ...And the Gaming table was really crammed full of miniatures. I can only guess what 40k would look like let alone 100k:p
Cheers!

Quote (primarch @ 29 2004 Aug.,07:50) | It isnt "epic" unless you play 8000 points plus....
Which begs another question....
Whats the largest size game people hae started and completed? | Started and completed both... I think it was our 15k per side game.
We did have one 25k per side but stopped it at 1:45 am when it looked as if the IG/Marines were going to loose to the Orc Horde.

a) Love to help
and
b) Cover it with Pictures for historic value.

I too, prefer smaller battles (2000-3000 pts) as I said. I like "fire & movement" ... not massive on line "slugfests" !

Hi!
Its a shame that the large battles I played were pre-digital camera, so there is no record of them.
Any large game I do now will definitely be covered by pictures extensively.

I play 3000-4000 point battles. 3000 points allows you to field a Warlord, but you'll be short somewhere else in your army. 4000 points allows you to take a well-rounded force with titans, or a specialised force without sacrificing too much flexibility.
It works out at about 1 hour per 1500 points to play, plus 30 minutes to argue over terrain.

I'm afraid I'm with Vanvlak on this one, so 0 points for me, however I'm working on it so you never know (by the way any tried and tested methods for 'converting' 40K kids?)

"I'm afraid I'm with Vanvlak on this one, so 0 points for me" - so if you pass through here, warn me Justiniel, and we'll set a game...

i've completed severall 12K games in SM2/TL era... the board was allready quite crowded, even if we used a lot of titans.

My biggest game was with SM2 rules and had 10K per side. It was a combined Imperial/Eldar/Squat alliance against my friend's huge (that was before I'd "met" primarch, mind you) Ork army. IIRC the Orks had incredible luck for the whole game and won.

Hi!
As clarifications, the large games I played were not on one table, but 2 and in one case 3 6-8 foot long tables. It was pretty impressive to look at when it was all set up. Mind you set up took the better part of a day to do, so the event was a two day thing.
On one table I find you can get up to 10-12k (if its 8 feet long) without it being too overcrowded. Larger games really need the additional tables.

I've played about 3 games of Epic:A this year, the last about four months ago.. so I'll join Justy & Vanvlak in the 0 points brigade methinks...

Is it just me, or are Chaos forces particularly well suited to take on loyalist marines? I just seem to have a harder time against them than I do when facing all other armies...
While we're at, does anyone have any good tips?
Thanks, Al
