Cheers on the Painting guide idea Tuff. Looking forward to it though it sounds as if you have your hands full at the moment. I hope you find time to do stuff for your own pleasure every once in a while.
What kind of models have you been doing for Swordwind? Infantry? Tanks?

Speaking of Carl: haven't heard much form him and Dropship hasn't been updated for a while. Is he on holidays or something? Can't wait to see what he's come up with for the Eldar Engines of Vaul. The mk2 Scorpion is a great model I hoope the other SHTs follow that pattern. With Carl's painting skills it's bound to look very impressive indeed!

Cheers! :)

hey ! i had about the same idea ! but not to write a painting guide about, in fact. I was planning to build a detachement representative of each "major" marine chapter, on a theme with the army (asault marines for Raven guard, robed marines for DA, etc). It was more a gallery/display project to me, but our ideas were quite similar nevertheless.

Honestly, I cant say I have much contact with Carl. Last time I heard from him that I can recall was when posted my deathguard rhino a while back & emailed him to talk paint schemes for that & swordwind - I never got a reply :(. My guess is he's just busy - Full time job, family + painting for Fanatic,it must be manic! I look forward to whatever he updates when it comes though!
However, I was lucky to see his first pieces when I last went to Nottingham & they certainly are very nicely done, as you would expect.
Oh, and yes, all the super heavies for swordwind are inthe same style (&huge!)

Personally, I've painted all the inf, basic vehicles (falcons, serpants, spinners, prisms, bikes, vypers etc.) Flyers, a Warlock titan & most recently the shining spears which were sent today.

Athmos - I look forward to seeing your take on some of the chapters. The idea of a while detachment for each seems wholly daunting to me - Good luck!

I've attached a photo taken a while back of some of the first Rhinos. Dark Angels has been added, & Deathwing, Space wolves & a couple of others are at various stages. Its a definite priority for me as a thank you for those who voted for me in the comp  :D

That sounds familiar, is that how you cope with it?

Well, I'm a diabetic, so I cope with this by applying a horse-size dose of insulin into my organism. Eww, I hate this.

Anyway, I need to be up and running, because otherwise I risk the glucose not falling to reasonable level at all, thus ruining my health even more.

I ususally play computer games or watch TV in these instances, but this time I felt not as bad as usually, so got to painting to kill time.

Finished the work on the Locust. Best Mech I ever did.

Unfortunately, the person who does the photos for me has lent his digicam to somebody and did not get it back in time, so I'll have to check him today.

Aye, recognised it as something I'd say, I'm diabetic too.

Look forward to seeing the Locust when you get pics, will read through Index A when I get a chance.

Great work on those Rhinos Tuff- lovely tidy symbols on the hatches, and nice neat basing too.

Oh, and yes, all the super heavies for swordwind are inthe same style (&huge!)

Glad to hear the superheavies are nice and big! -pity they'll be ?8 each though I'd guess... ?:(

Are the flyers the same old E40k ones Tuff? -I asked this question on the SG forums, but didn't get a reply... any chance you could shed some light?

the ones I painted for the Swordwind army were E40K edition models.

Here goes the Locust.

It has convinced me to get out my "Mad Cat alpha", an unusual conversion made out of plastic mechs from BT 3rd edition box and repaint it completely - it feels like it's crying for a decent paintjob. And replacing the modelline extra bits with decent Green Stuff sculpts too!

Right now, a friend of mine has given me proposal of upgrading my PC slightly *for free*, because he has a large pile of old components. Currently the PC has been "gutted", now the mainboard is installed. We'll probably transit all the data from HDD's to his HDD, formatt the HDD's to FAT32 (now it's FAT16) install Win98SE (better then the current W95 which cannot handle FAT32).

Guess what, this and a certain few corrections of my *huge mistakes* done when connecting all the cabling should make the PC run as fast as a hungry Flesh Hound. At least in comparison to the speed it had before...

Yeah, then there I'll have to reinstall half of the programs. Ah, well, it can be only better.
