Hi all, it's time for the stupid suggestion of the week, and here it is: get a cheap travel-size chessboard (or print one), mark off corridors on its surface, use Epic scale terminators and genestealers - tadaah! - epic space hulk. For wilder rides, try using a mole mortar inside a hulk....:p |
I actually think I saw that somewhere. Can't remember where but someone had scanned the original corridors and downsized them to Epic scale. They were available for download. All you had to do was to print the corridors, paint up a few Genestealers and terminators and attatch them to some magnets and voila!
...Would also be kindda fun to hade an ongoing game on your refrigerator door: you could make a move every time someone went for the milk, butter, sausage etc.....
60 bucks is not that unreasonable for a board game these days. I was stunned to hear the price of a pretty standard game like RISK! Anyway if MB releases it I'd buy it regardless of the price (well almost...)
Cheers!

I've heard the epic scale SH for travel idea proposed a few times, haven't seen a set personally tho...
If the rumours true, I hope MB don't do too much to space hulk, other than ditch the timer rule for the marines.

I still don't think GW would release the license to anyone, since its something they themselves could produce. Ah well, I've got my own 1st edition, with all the supplements - the yellow book too - gloat!

Hi!
Actually, not having the minis isnt a problem since the original ones weren't that good. Its far better to have the pieces and rule books.

"They still use the original mini's don't they?" - I think they'd come up with a better set of plastic termies for the 2nd edition - the first were terribly blocky - though I've got a couple of squads painted in Legio Fausta Terminators, and I wouldn't part with them. The plastic Librarians were even worse, though! The 2nd ed. plastic terminator models are still currently available in a boxed set, I believe.

I can't imagine MB releasing a board game for US$60. Even Axis and Allies, which has a LOT of miniatures in it, only sells for US$45.
