Quoting from Goldenthrone:
Anyway, I have heard from a particularly reliable source (the guy has no reason to lie to me) that space hulk will soon be re-released by MB games. The set will include the plastic terminators, and the new Genestealers. As soon as I find out more I'll let you know. |
...make of it what you will.....

Hi!
I wouldn't mind picking up that game, if it were based on the original rules.

I would like to see that. Maybe if we think it will happen hard enough then it will.......

2nd time round, Justiniel, there were two editions of the game produced. I doubt, though, that GW would license MB to produce it and market it...

I am a little less optimistic about this. If it is done by MB, then you can bet that it will be seriously changed to appeal to a wider, younger audience (remember Space Crusade?).
The board sections probably wont be so good either, and I doubt that we will get the individual corridors as there just wont be the markey for it. Most likely it will be big square sections. It would be good to get a new version of this game, but I am a little sceptical.

Hi all, it's time for the stupid suggestion of the week, and here it is: get a cheap travel-size chessboard (or print one), mark off corridors on its surface, use Epic scale terminators and genestealers - tadaah! - epic space hulk. For wilder rides, try using a mole mortar inside a hulk....:p

Well, alot of things depend on GW. Are they going to let MB rerelease the game much in the same state as it was the last time? Probably not, if they are going to use the new Genestealers. And the price will definitely be higher, or the quality will be lower. GW does some stupid stuff, but letting people have cheap minis is not one of them(at least in my experience):O
my 2cents,

..Remember it won't be GW pushing and producing the product- MB is a massive, rich company and can surely afford to have moulds of their own cut- after all, they had a complete new range of plastics made for Heroquest and Space Crusade.... My guess is that it might actually be cheaper than if GW was producing it as a new edition again, although as others have said, the rules may be dumbed down for a younger target audience...

Hi!
I wouldn't worry about quality or price tag. MB is a company that makes GW look like a street corner shop.
The first edition rules, sans the add on supplements are extremely simple and straight forward.
They could release it as is, charge 60 bucks for it and make money.
I for one would buy it.
