In a not finished state it's still only 90% better than anything I could ever hope to paint. Just amazing.

Your fingers clearly sacrificed virgins to get this good.

You can't go wrong with a good basic black paint job with well done highlighting ! Nice ! :spin

It's even beautiful when it's dropping tanks all over my army!

Shame I only got to see the WIP version this weekend. It's already gorgeous, but I think that the finished version may be really quite spectacular.

Are you using magnets on those Rhinos? If do, what size, I mean they are a fair chunk of metal.

Yes, all magnetised up ;)
Here it is fully loaded with magnet rhinos, and yes, it's a big chunk of metal by this stage:

the magnets are only 2mm, drilled into the rhinos. The lander does not have magnets, just small strips of very thin steel (or whatever metal the bottom of biscuit tins is made of) greenstuffed in under each claw. that was easily enough when i built it … now everything has a bit of varnish and paint on it seems noticably weaker, even though that isnt much thickness of paint :(

im terms of the WIP-ness, much of the top area wont change, but the underside is just solid black at present, only 1 eagle is painted, there's no front door, missing too guns etc etc. so it can both look fairly finished from some angles, and not started from others ;)

Centurions done apart from basing details (can't find the bits …)
Count as devs or terminators

(something odd going on with linked image widths so i've attached this as a forum pic to the previous post and linked through to here …)

I'm not a fan of Centurions as a concept; they seem an entirely unnecessary addition to the army.

But when they look that good, I can forgive them.

Agreed. Finishing the formation was an odd experience – 'yay i've finished the centurions' … '…dammit now i have centurions' :sos

anyway, finally got a formation of tempests painted, think i'd had these sitting around for 5? 6? years now in a box, waiting for some attention

Part of my black templar contingent, but also to be used as count as raven wing or raven guard
