no problem Matt, it was fun using the list. I will continue playing it and may bring it to NEAT this year. I want to try some other formation types and not include the knights. Hopefully in another month or so. I used the list available and the points. I understand you are thinking of changing some points for LR and Predators along with the Knights. The LR and Pred, i believe are priced accurately. As for the knights they are about right maybe a slight increase. have you thought about giving the hell scourge disrupt and 2 shots instead of 3, hitting on the same numbers. Just a thought. I think Noise Marines are still overpriced for 6 without a lord.

Just finished a 3k vassal game. 2–0 to EC end of turn 3.

Will post report tomorrow some point.

We did have knights and a thawk. However, the knights failed to activated t1 and t2, and the thawk never took a BM :spin

we might count as the the same play group (not sure if that's good or bad here). last one was vs. MikeT on vassal, who plays at the same local group as Kyuss
(we could both quite easily overlap testing with mike … depends on how you define groups, we are not geographically nearby, but are part of same tournament meta with playtest player overlap)

Just a small thought. To allow the Chaos Thunderhawk to use its Planetfall ability, doesn't it need to appear in the list of units able to be carried by the Spaceship units, like the Marine Strike Cruiser and Battle Barge have?

Yes, that needs to be added into the spacecraft notes (dev and despoiler) in order to use planetfall. I'm going to review the list this weekend for that and other needed fixes. - thanks

Going to give this a runout tonight, using the following (heavily proxied) list:

Retinue - Warlord, Pact, Rhinos, Stalker - 380
Retinue - Pact, Rhinos, Stalker - 330
Retinue - Pact, Dreadclaws, 4 Noise Marines - 330
Chosen - Pact, Rhinos - 145
Terminators - Pact - 300
Terminators - Pact - 300
Thunderhawk - 200
Thunderhawk - 200
Armoured Company (4x preds) - 200
Knights (4x Hell Scourge) - 360
Devastation Cruiser - 150
2 Lesser Daemon - 15 (8 in total)

I'm still unconvinced that the thunderhawks *need* fearless if used sensibly, the advantages I can see are that you will fly off with fewer blast markers when broken (2 as opposed to 4) which makes them much more likely to return on subsequent turns, it also opens up the 'hail mary' tactic where you can engage stuff with an empty thunderhawk without fear of losing it if the assault fails, unlike regular marine ones

Okay so I took the above list out for a spin against MikeT and his black legion, ended as a 3-0 victory to me with BTS, T&H and Blitz

I took a few pics but my phone battery was low, will upload them tomorrow

A few thoughts that came to mind

-Terminators are probably underpriced at 275 when there is the option to thunferhawk them in, in the game I was able to double a retinue up to prep then support a terminator air assault which wiped out a black legion retinue, I'm planning on upping them to a minimum of 300 pts in the Red Corsairs list as they are very potent in a thunderbrick

-Preds are also cheap for the AT sponson shot, disrupt AND a boost to the FF value, all that over the regular chaos pred effectively for free.... I'd suggest bumping them to 225 to start with

-Fearless thunderhawks were not an issue, I engaged with them after mike was activated out with no problems, honestly I dont think they need the boost

Basically the list feels like the best bits of black legion (daemons, cheap terminators, chosen plus the awesome knights) mixed with the best bit of codex marines (terminator air assault) not knocking the theme of the list but currently I think some options are undercosted and a bit too effective

The list was submitted for approval with +5 point bumps to Pred and LRs, and +90 for the better knights.

Can I read the Thaek comment as "200 is enough for fearless, I just don't like fearless"?
