it involves large amounts of zooming!

rhinos, jetbikes, and the following are all decorations for the same model

assault marine boltering a wooping squark exarch (not sure how well this will hold, metal exarch is heavy and the join to end of bolt pistol is tricky …)

Image

as most of the minis are black templars im hoping it wont take tooo long to paint it all (gonna dry brush all the blacks). … although i don't have any bone or brown colours with me, which is a disadvantage for shoulders and cloaks :/

Without having any idea what this is... I'm also pretty intrigued as to what it is now!

They can unite to form Rhino Voltron. A mighty robot, loved by good, feared by evil.

Oh my goodness.

Are you using Italian black templars as /decoration/. That's decadent! =P

But the posing options are soooo good for it, they'd be wasted on the ground :D
painted first 3 or so (found some bone paint), but for some reason they're looking a bit flat …

the twin linked assault cannons shoot the bike, the smoke from the bike connects to the second bike, they twin heavy bolters start shooting the second bike but havn't connected yet, the assault marine is supported by his jump jet stream, one of the second marine's trails is linked off the first, and that marine is shooting a bolt pistol at the exarch … can't stick it all together now because a) it'd be impossible to drybrush springing off wires, and b) some of the connections are pretty tenuous and blu tack won't hold them ???

decided what my blacks were lacking before was pure white highlight points, going to try and start that on vehicles tomorrow.

*oh and the rhinos and multi-metla are just gonna chill and watch from front row seats

Nah, to squish em underfoot the gargant would need to be stomping about, only thing i want touching the ground is the flight stand.

talking of – I realised I needed to make the flight stand so i could get the other bits of flying wire bent to their final positions before i sculpted effects over them, so today i've roughed out the stand.

Needs to be heavy, which would suggest cutting it from metal sheet/plate, but i don't have any of that. So instead I melted some metal, poured it into a sort of oval shape and stuck the rod in that:
Image

then i scalpel'd an oval from a sheet of plasticard (see template outlines above courtesy of Word :P ) and stuck the metal blob to that with milliput. Hopefully final thing is heavy, strong, and still relatively low profile – i don't like thick bases.
Image

not going to do anything fancy with the stand. once that's dried it'll just be textured and painted the same as my salamander bases, but pictures here as the base was made in a slightly unusual way … :P

no time to paint today, but im going to try to keep doing something on this every day to make sure i don't abandon project
