Great event, thanks for organising reeder. Above and beyond the call of duty to run a tournament and watch the kids! Thanks to Tom, Steve D, and Mark for 3 great and very different games. Great to finally get to play the squats at a tournie.

Congrats to Mr L - better slow it down or it'll be another army looking at the nerf bat ! ;-)

Sadly the only pic I was able to snap was of Duncan and tc.63 putting together some toys for my kids!!!

The 3 red ones were enemy ones used as objectives. John's list was a Steel Legion list with 11 Shadowswords, quite an extreme army. I think it did well at the previous tournament it was used at, but badly in this one.

I beat it 0-2 but I was using a mostly infantry tyranid army, with a couple of tyrgons the only WE, so rather a bad match up for it. Good game though :)

Thanks again to Reedar for TO duties while childminding and being spare player at the same time!

Likewise, thanks to my three opponents Duncan, Horatio and Glyn for three tense games!

Indeed, i'd like to add my thanks to Darren for organizing - not easy when you have a pair of little helpers to boot!

Thanks to Glynn, Mark, and Horatio for 3 interesting games, and overall it was a great start to the tournament year :)

Btw, Mark - was it a Leviathan rather than a Cyclops in your list?

Big Thanks to Reedar for Organising and to Jon, Richard and Steve for three fun games ;)

@Richard - it was a Leviathan, I didn't correct you as I thought you were just getting the names muddled up. (You seemed happy with it firing barrage+las cannon rather than TK+missles)

I think actually taking a cyclops next time would be a good move >:D

My regular opponents won't let me use that many SHT for a regular game because it's silly, so it gets rolled out for tournaments.
This time not so great, infantry nids had me on the back foot, and finding out squats are that fast meant trying to fend them away from the blitz.

Much fun with games with Mark showing me the power of squats, glynn schooling me with nids, and tc63 forcing a draw.

My smattering of photos at last!

Round one against Duncan's Skitarii, which got a well-deserved best-painted.

One of the Plageuhounds doing their usual excellent job of turning infantry formations into little puddles of slime:

The set up against Horatio's Steel legion. That darn Commissar and the horse he rode in on!

One of the great terrain pieces:

I forgot to take an overview shot of the game against Glyn's massive horde of Nid gribblies, this was shortly before my BTS Death Guard Retinue fought off three separate Genestealer assaults and a big swarm assault (with overwatch help from the formation behind them) but were finally broken by the fifth assault, never to rally again, even with SC re-rolls...

Image

The aftermath of turn two, I believe I killed at least a third of the Nid forces!
