All lists now in, and we have:

3 Steel Legion
2 Squats
2 Nids
1 Skitarii
1 Eldar
1 Tau
1 Necron
1 Death Guard
1 Vanahiem
1 Orks

A pretty broad mix to kick the year off with, and possibly the first event I've been to that doesn't have a single Marine list!

(OP updated with who is taking what...)

Cheers
Reedar

Interesting mix. Will be keen to see how the squats perform.

As previously said, had no free time recently so I'm using the same list as Exeter (shadowsword spam). Would say I'd like a rematch against IJW'S DG, but given last time 90% of my army ended up broken I'm not sure I do :)

Ooo ! Interesting !

@jon - I had hoped to put my marines up against those shadowswords at Exeter. Now I feel like I might as well paint a target on my warlock in case we meet ! :-)

Warlocks are pretty sturdy against shadowswords: the psychic Lance mangles formations of war machines, and the holofields mean you ignore 2/3 of the volcano cannons. Unless you're daz and you need to make an armour save in which case you can make as many saves as needed until I run out of things to shoot at it

And that was on a pretty wide-open table. ;D

I'd forgotten/repressed memories of Ian's list. I believe I ran out of blast markers when we played!!!

True story, my war engines usually seem to like playing Jon... Although in fairness I haven't faced the Shadowsword spam...

To be fair, it's usually a safe assumption to think you don't need a BM for every other unit in a list...

That's not true - you only need BMs for the few lucky survivors of the IC pie plates of doom whizzing about EVERYWHERE ! ;-)

Evening all,

As things stand we have got a space available for this weekend.

Rug has first refusal, but if he can't make it is anyone else interested...?

Cheers

Hi guys,

Hope everyone is on-track with painting etc and ready for Saturday...

Just a word of warning/apology in advance:

Due to a perfect storm of work commitments/friend & family social plans changing etc all my baby sitting options have fallen through, and I'm going to have my two Noise Familiars with me...

Obviously running & playing in a tourney is hard enough, let alone while also being Daddy Day Care... If anyone steps forward to play in the event, then I'll happily stand down and just concentrate on running things and stopping the kids from, well, being kids.
Failing anyone else being able to make it, then I will play as usual.

I wanted to let you guys know, just to apologies in advance to whoever my three opponents might be as I might be a bit distracted. I'll tell you all my secret tactics in advance though; plonk stuff down/double forwards/engage/let dust settle/see who won.

In the event it becomes completely unmanageable, then I'll drop out (from playing) and run a bye system for the remaining round(s).

Cheers
Reedar

P.S. Round one draw will be posted up later tonight or tomorrow.
