[[[ Why? Are you having us assassinated? ]]]

I hadn't thought about that.

Is there any reason I'd want to have you assassinated?

But, enough of this line, let's get back to introductions. I'm pretty sure that I know some of you by multiple names / aliases.

Shalom,

Maksim-Smelchak. ? ?:)

Really depends on what day it is! Currently it's Man O' War.

> Anything else you wanna say?

I'm a GW addict. Collect the following stuff

? Warhammer (Empire, Orcs/Goblins, Skaven, Dwarfs, High Elves, Dogs of War, Bretonnians & a few Lizardmen)

? Bloodbowl (Skaven, Humans, Dark Elves, Dwarfs, High Elves, Orcs)

? Man O' War (Dwarf, High Elf, Empire, Dark Elf, Chaos Dwarf)

? Epic (IG, Ultramarines, Orks and a few Tyranids/Eldar)

??BFG (Imperial Navy, Eldar, Chaos & Orks)

? LotR (Fellowship stuff)

Plus a few other bits, Mordheim, etc.

Alright, unless I've missed a post, I believe I'm the first Canuck to chime in...

Name: ? ? Chad Johnston
Aliases: ? ? Waaaghlord, CDN_Chad, Chuck
Age: ? ? 29
Location: ? ? ?Oshawa, Ontario, Canada
General Info (Profession): ? ? First Level IT Support (full-time); ?Sporting Goods Sales (part-time)
Games (Miniatures): ? ? EPIC
Games (Boardgames): ? ? Currently none (Although I do play turn-based PC games such as Civilization, Alpha Centauri, and the like...)
Games (Role-playing): ? ? Again, none (Unless the Final Fantasy series counts?)
Armies Collected for Epic: ? ? Ork ?(I have a smattering of IG, SM and Eldar, but not nearly enough to class as an army.)
General Info (Gaming Background): ? ? Introduced to EPIC 4 or 5 years ago - my first true miniatures game. ?God, it's expensive! ?Which is why I probably only play EPIC... ?But, it all began, many, many years ago, with those cheap plastic army men. ?Then, it evolved into Risk, Axis & Allies, Diplomacy, and a host of other Avalon Hill and similar games.
What is your favorite GW game (apart from Epic or BFG)?
If I could afford more than one, I'd probably play Warhammer 40K. ?(Did I mention this stuff is expensive? ?I wonder what the average markup is for a blister?)

Cheers to all,

Chad

Games (Boardgames):
Currently played: NONE
Owned: Um, er, I don't quite remember them all, but here are some:
2nd Fleet, 7th Fleet, ASL (with modules 1-8, HASL modules 1 and 4 and SASL), Horus Heresy, IDF, MBT, NATO, Nukes & Nazis, NATO: The Next War in Europe, Nuclear War (all three), Panzer Blitz, Panzer Grenadier, Panzer Leader, Sands of War, Seven Seas to Victory, Third Reich, Third World War (modules 1 and 3), Tomorrow the World, Turning Point: Stalingrad, Winter War

By now you probably think I'm a game addict and you're absolutely right. I don't know why but I actually like reading game rules and especially army lists.

Armies Collected for Epic: Eldar, Exodites, IG, Orks, Squats and SM. Only the IG army is somewhat complete (18 companies).

General Info (Gaming Background):Started on Panzer Leader and D&D, moved to miniature games (RT and Epic). Stopped playing due to lack of opponents but my game collection just grew and continues to do so. I have slowly been corrupting two of my friends so I could start gaming again . I have written a few armylists for Net Epic and Heresy (SOB, PDF (with Weasel Fierce), Exodites (with Nils Saugen) and a few Marine Chapters). I continue to nurture delusions grandeur about sculpting 6mm SOB minis.

Jyrki,

Thanks for sharing. I always wanted to know more about you.

Speaking of Finland, have you seen any of the Winter War movies?

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

P.S.
Good luck with the 6mm SoBs! I started sculpting a Necron army in 6mm, which has been a dream of mine.

Me? Boy, I'm starting to gain fame! :O

>Speaking of Finland, have you seen any of the Winter War movies?

There are more than one? Well, to my knowledge there is the "short" movie version and a longer TV version, which was in 5 parts of about 45 minutes each. Naturally I've seen both ;) IIRC the Winter War movie was somewhat denounced in the Cannes for being too long.

I probably am biased but the Winter War is sharing the first place on my personal list of the best war movies I've seen. Sure it's not quite as fancy SFX-wise as Saving Private Ryan but in other respects it is better. The first time I saw the Winter War I thought the actors were a bit stiff, but then I realized that the regiment in the movie was raised from Etel?pohjanmaa (Southern Bothnia) and people there _are_  just like that.

Thanks! I'd love to see the Necrons when you get something ready!

and now to represent the Southern Hemisphere...

Name: Paul O'G

Aliases: Tas; pauljamesog

Location: Sydney, Australia (although I recently returned from 2 years in the UK)

General Info (Profession): Serving Military

Games (Miniatures): Epic, BFG, BBowl, OGRE, Dirtside II, Stargrunt, WW2 28mm, WW2 1/300, Modern/WW2/WW1/Napoleponic/Ancient Naval, Full Thrust, lots more besides. ?So much lead...

Games (Boardgames): Panzer Blitz, B17 Queen of the Skies, Turning Point Stalingrad...ahh all my old AH Favourites. ?Plus about 6 boxes filled to capacity with Advanced Squad Leader stuff that hasnt seen daylight in years...

Games (Role-playing): used to be lots, now reduced to a few boxes full of 2300AD and Traveller treasures.

Armies Collected for Epic:
SM - Dark Angels. ?Had them since 2nd Ed was released... ?Adding some Flesh Tearers and Imperial Fist detachments.
IG - putting it together now. ?With 25 sprues of infantry recently delivered from GW, it should be an infantry force to be reckoned with! (chris those 40 sprues are WAAAY overkill- just wait to you spread them out and look at them!)
Chaos - collecting the makings now. ?No painting or assembly started...yet. ?They are next after my IG

General Info (Gaming Background): ?Started at age 13 when I started at High school and never looked back. ?Now I think about it, I've spent a fortune in the last 17 years. ?Oh GOD- I'm an old fart!!!

What is your favorite GW game (apart from Epic or BFG)?
Apart from BFG? ?Then it would have to be Blood Bowl (Skaven)

Am I the only Aussie here then ? :-:

Paul,

Thanks for writing.

I love your OGRE site.

One of these days I have to photograph my OGREs for your gallery.

We have a few Ozzie members and one or two from Kiwiland.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.
