Wow, that is a surprise, and a great loss to GW. If the big C has gone, there are very few of the core RT era left. JJ, of course, and Rick P, but they are both now SG!
When I saw a topic by NetEpic titles Shocking News, I thought that he had got engaged or something!

I have to say I heard this a few days back, but dismissed it as a poor (even if well-sourced) rumour. I cant believe its atually for real!
I can't imagine him leaving the industry after all these years, so it makes me wonder where he's heading & what he'll be doing from now on.

Interesting.... the second thread on the GW forums about it has been shut down (see this thread)
No response from Jervis and several of my friends in the know have had to retract statements and apologise.
What I can tell you is that an official statement IS imminent, although it may be released tomorrow now.

I wouldn't be surprised if Andy chambers had left. GW has long alienated some of its' most talented designers.
Many of them have gone off to form their own companies where they could have more autonomy. Look at the example of the Perry brothers for instance. They still contract to GW (and others such as Foundry), but their hearts are in their own company.

Oh dear...
Looks like the official leaper email was sent around, GW does that when people 'leave' .
I suspect that the friendly terms were as friendly as mine...
Ie - Your fired for pissing off your boss... Oh and here is small severence (in my case non-exsitent) package to thank you for your years of service and dedication.
Didn't mean to sound bitter, but GW doesn't have the best reputation for employee relations.
When I was in the UK Andy was very vocal about not designing games or product for sales purposes only. Or at lest not making an uber-powered army/unit that everyone will buy. And was into building the ethos of the game.
This doesn't sit well with many at GW, who are watching an increasingly shrinking bottomline because of amateur marketing techniques which seem to be invented by accountants.
Ahem...
Sorry... I know I sound bitter, but I was fired for taking time off to take care of my sick family (2pm visits to the hospital with my son on IV feeds!!!) which took four hours off during a work week.
And all I got from my boss was 'Your pissing me off' and three days later I was fired.
'Friendly terms' yeah... right...

Oh and it has been confirmed now my numerous GW store staff... despite the confidentiallity thang.
The official line is that they parted on good terms.
