Long time lurker, relatively new to forum posting so I have a question. Is there a size/format/preference for pic uploading? Found some possible proxies I would like to share with comparison photos but not exactly sure how to do it without violating anything. Have searched but can't find guide lines.

If you mean the mechanics of uploading.... You need to go to the 'full editor' (ie, not the quick reply box) and under the main text box (where I am typing now.... you cant see, but its where you would type too.... not the same box, different page.... screw it, you know what I mean!) there are options to upload attachments.

A general rule of courtesy online is to keep pictures as small as possible while giving all the detail you want. Most upload formats are supported, so let me know if you have problems.

If you mean the principles of uploading.... Any and all pictures are welcomed, with two proviso.
1. The IP infringing work is not shown here.
2. That credit for the minis/painting is given where you can.

Talkiing about gaming and minis online is a very visual activity, and pictures are encouraged in general.

I use Picasa’s export function to spit out shrunken images, 1024 or 1200 pixels wide, “normal” quality. Takes a .jpg from 8 MB to 200 KB, which is easily uploadable.

The alternative is to upload to imgur, which will provide you with links for a few different sizes (original, smallish, too small, way too small, and even smaller). Then use an [ img ] tag to embed them in a post.

I just upload to Picasa and link to them here. If you've got a Google account you're good to go.
