Salamander vehicles so far, every one different. Nabbed a contingent of old marine armour from moredakka last week, the first of which can be seen in the land raiders at the back here.

Won't finish the LR tracks until i base the whole army.

Check size is varied across them, but i've settled on 0.5mm checks as looking best now (you can see larger ones on the vindicator gun and tiiiny ones on the rear WW side door).

Nice work mate. Always good to see some old models get a spiffy new paint job.

not sure when the last time i painted this much in one week was, but i've just finished 5 rhinos, 2 thunderhawks and 4 predators. Finding these old sculpts really fun to paint.

Still to come: space ship, pods, scouts + transports, bikes, jet bikes (count as assault marines), terminators, rapiers (count as devs), hunters, razorbacks.

Here's where I am in total with the salamanders now:

Just the combat vehicles:

thunderbricks are go:

what stuff looks like after dry brushing and before adding detail:

WIP on one of the preds, the mould line on the pred turret is at just the right level to use it as a guide to paint a yellow band neatly:

Will you be dressing up the bases?

Yes, planning to do them like this:

going to leave it all to the end though, do all the bases and tank tracks at once. I might base the vehicles as well, they've been chipping a lot, but then i've yet to varnish them. Varnish arrived yesterday so will give them a coat today.

I'm sure ill have a few bits spare if you do RT marines, just lemme know.

The paint job is top notch as always! The checker pattern being painted is fantastic, i consider myself a decent painter but i would never attempt that... wouldn't even consider it. Love the use of old miniatures, still hate the thunderbrick but can't hate the paint job. Very nice.
