Particular thanks to Julo, Tom, Kev, Andy and Matthias for 5 fun games.

Final standings and stats will be on EpicUK site at some point and I'll put the photos I took up tomorrow

I believe it finished

6 France

Thanks for a great weekend, to Steve and the EpicUK boys for organising, Mephiston for the reffing and scorekeeping, my teammates for carrying me ;) and also to Tim, Remy, Matt, Christropher and Per for five great games!

The standard of painting was amongst the highest I've seen at an event, with some seriously spectacular armies on display, the French guys lived up to their reputation as a nation of sublime painters!!!

I hope all the participants had a good time and will be back in Sweden next year, also thanks to team Germany for the pin badges, a neat idea with a real community feel! I hope to collect many more in future :)

2 of 2, second lot of pictures. In most cases only the close ups came out well, which is why I don't have many battle overview images to share.

French nids swarming up mid-way into game 5:

The viking great gargant eyeing up the french reaver in game in game 4. This photo was taken at 9pm, very much a full day of gaming.

A blob of confusion for both Kyuss and myself in game 3. Terminators teleported in next to BTS tacticals, lost initiative, survived two marine activations then failed their own activation to assault. The scouts then assaulted the terminators in firefight but drew resolution, allowing the terminators to counter charge into base to base with the supporting tactical formation (closest enemy unit). Well, what a fantastic weekend of gaming! Echoing what the others said, big thanks to everyone to travelled over from abroad to make this such an enjoyable event.

Thanks also to Steve for all the hard work that went into organising it, Dave for the smooth running, and lastly to Mike, Meg, Andy, Sascha & Kris for five challenging and enjoyable games.

Will try and download the photos from the camera tomorrow and see how many are actually usable...

Cheers
Reedar

Glad everybody seemed to enjoy it, hopefully we'll get even more countries to Stockholm next year.

Thanks to everybody for agreeing to play 4 games on the Saturday due to the French flight issues, obviously wasn't ideal but seemed the best solution. Also thanks to Dave for reffing, Mike+Richard+Rob for terrain painting, Darren+Tim for providing extra terrain and Andy+Matt for helping to set up on Friday.

Finally thanks to Bendy Boards, Gregsters Lab, Troublemaker Games and I-Designs for supporting the event

It was the best event I've been to for sure! and I've never been to a bad epicUK tournament

my only regret was missing out on a chance to have a relaxed drink and a meal with all our european guests on the saturday evening, but such is life

For me the best thing was seeing so many smiling guys, enjoying their games, and a slew of wonderful armies, for my money there were at least ten armies which would have won best painted at other events, and getting to see them close up was a particular highlight for me, especially the french armies which I'd never seen before

Also let's not forget Brumbaer's eldar which were not only painted, but also entirely designed, sculpted, and 3D printed by the man himself, which is worthy of some serious respect! :)

Fortunately the lighting issues should be solved soon as Kyuss has agreed to buy some large arc lights and transport them to every tournament ;D

He should consider himself lucky to narrowly avoid the leadership challenge after the dissent amount the ranks! ;)

Good to hear that it was a great tournament! Really hope I can make it to Stockholm With a team of Norwegians at my back.

I think the issue of early flights is one that will come back - I know that for me, the sensible way to travel from Birmingham this year would have been a flight departing 14.30 or thereabouts. Is it possible to make a tournament schedule that allows for this without skipping stuff such as dinner on saturday?

If not, it might be best to be up front that we expect that contestants take a day off on monday if necessary. Or, as an alternative, start the tournament on Friday afternoon, which means that contestants are expected to travel during the day on Friday, but are then free to leave early on sunday.

Depending on where people are coming from & access to the venue, it might be easier to have 1 game on the Friday night, 3 on the Saturday and 1 on the Sunday morning. It will probably mean an extra night's accommodation for the not so local locals.

the photos above and the ones I've seen posted elsewhere so far show some pretty amazing painting and models - half of me is inspired to try and raise my game and half of me wants to give up.

Those forests made me smile though :)
