Hi!

That is one of the reasons I don't like resin. It breaks by just looking at it. Metal, even thin metal is far more durable.

Um interesting design.

The engines look a little tacked on at the moment would they look more integral if you lowered them down level with the missile pods if you get my meaning. It would just seam more natural to me that way as the lower engine would be level with the wing and it would give a better field of fire for the small turrets.

Just some thoughts.

I like the shape but I think the engines look too big and boxy. Like moredakka I think it could work better if the whole engine/missile stack were lowered down, i.e. the missiles go below wing level and the rear intake is the only one above. And/or reduce the height of the intakes, meaning the size of each "level" is reduced.

Mammoth design! Almost makes me consider a grim dark Manga army :-). All shapes look very boxy still. Particularly noticeable in the front view. I suppose you will consider tapering e.g. tips of wings.

Thanks for the feedback! Oh yeah everything is really boxy still, this is the VERY early flushing out phase - so I'm really only playing with unrefined "chunks" to get a look I like before going into any final detail.

That said - I get what you're saying about the engines - I will continue to play with them.

An alternative (or addition) to lowering the engines might be to raise the command deck. As it currently stands the main body looks to be the same thickness as the wings. A thicker body might help support the notion of a massive vessel as well as smoothing out the disconnect between. The engines and the rest of the ship.

Oh, and for this particular model, a rear view might be useful to see as well.

Looking awesome though.

Going to kill the fantasy a bit here....

Having those missile launchers so close to the engine intakes doesn't make much sense as the caustic gasses from the missile exhaust will get drawn in and cause all sorts of problems. In my opinion, of course.

That's all for now till we see more of the design as it evolves.

Assuming that the missiles aren't using a reactionless thruster technology related to the gravitic drive and repulsorlift technology that the ship uses.

Yes, of course, if deacon wants to get that specific and if it really matters. He ended up flipping the engines on his small grav tanks because I pointed out that the debris from the ground would be sucked into them as they moved in the original position. Nothing wrong with pointing out some stuff like that--he's a big boy, he can do it the way he wants to regardless of what anyone says.

Technobabble...haven't heard that in a while. :)

Just to offer a dissenting voice; I generally think the OTC stuff is gorgeous, but this (still early, I know) giant flier lacks a lot in terms of style and smoothness. I hope the final version is less blocky and more curvy.. :)
