Hi guys.
So as i just started on my very first army for this seemingly awesome game, I tought id get me some sort of goal to build, or mainstream paint, towards. I have a friend willing to try it out too and if my so called real life permits I'm interested in attending a tourney in may.
So, if that pans out well i have qiute a bit of paintning to bite into, therefor I thought id check here with the pros before gooing too far in the wrong direction.

I have all of this exept for the Razorback, attackbike and chaplain in terminator armour, and qiute a bit of other stuff as well, ebay is such a dangerous place, hare to stop one the wallet is out.

Was thinking anchoring the center around the two tacticals, speeders and bikes saying back to reinforce where needed and the termies leading the charge on the BTS and enemy home objective supported by the warhound and devs in thunderhawk.

I have checken out some of the armies on the site, but even so it would be awesome to get some hands on critique on the list, the things i've picked up on is scouts are a nice thing to have, but i only have one stand, still could change a thunderbolt for some maybe, and the termies is really expensive and usually deployed by thunderhawk, but i really like the idea f termies in landraiders, is it better to have separate landraiders thogh?

Looks like a decent starting point, it might be worth getting a hunter in there somewhere if possible, you'll have enough options to play around with a few different builds (split the termies and land raiders into separate formations, buy a spacecraft and pod the devs and dreds in etc etc.)

Yes, make the terminators their own formation with a chaplain upgrade (you want to teleport or fly them in by thunderhawk).

Use the rest of the points to get a scout formation and 2 hunter upgrades. Drop the ladt tactical squad and by another warhound.

Already started one at: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=29023

Yeah, i've seen hunters beeing a popular choice, but havent seen any on ebay or other places, so i tought id go with thunderbolts instead for AA. Will get some if I se them at a decent price though.

Terminators have the best armour in the game combined with good Close Combat (CC) assault factors, teleporting and the Marine special rule (They shall know no Fear - TSKNF). They are really good when they initiate an assault, and the Chaplain helps to win.

For what its worth, people who are new to E:A are generally recommended to go through the training scenarios at the end of each section of the rules so that they can get familiar with the main rules, the special abilities and weapons, War engines and the aerospace rules. If you can play a few games with someone who is familiar then all the better, as they will be able to explain some of the strategies and tactics that as well.

Flying them in thru a thunderhawk makes it possible to get them into assaults all over the board (just like teleport). You also get too use the thunderhawk as a part of the assault which means 2x5+ dice rolls more...

That seems like a good list.
I think splitting the landraiders and Terminators would be a good idea as well.

There's some 3D print add-ons available at shapeways that are great to take old plastic rhinos and turn them into Hunters. That's a cheap easy way to round out your force, if need be. Search for "epic minis" for the storefront.

As far as terminators go, it can be summed up as beeing inneficient to need to chase the best opponent for them to hit on the board as opposed to just picing a torget and hitting it at will?

If you thunderhawk them in, they are unable to be targeted before you assault, unlike teleporting they are not as dependent on the strategy roll, they can hit any point on the table to get maximum effect

indeed... the amount of times I've teleported in and then lost the strategy roll, or failed to activate them thanks to blast markers and not been able to engage (especially with assault terminators who can just wave their thunder hammers menacingly at the nearby enemy and await the inevitable clipping engagement)
