Brief reports
Game 1 - Following a late cancellation I sat out the 1st round with the intention of not playing all day, Dave+Mike said they would be happy to sit out a game too so we used the bye system detailed in the rulespack.

Game 2 - vs Monkeyboys Speed Freeks.
Rob had a speed freek horde 7 or 8 skorcha/trukk mobs, a 25 strong BTS mob, bikes, landa, 3 x FB, 6 x FB
I opted to pod the devs, and with a huge horde I was pretty confident of hitting quite a bit, I decided Rob would probably want to protect his BTS from Warhound but remain fairly central so placed the barrage +pod in a central area shiled by terrain. Barrage hit his BTS squarely killing 14 units and damaging another mob which the devs then broke. Rob killed the devs with 2 other mobs and tentatively advanced with most mobs, 1 ringed the broken BTS as a shield while another went on OW over the BTS. I advanced cautiously breaking another mob with the warhound ,termies air assaulted killing a mob. Empty thawk thinned out the broken BTS, while the 6 xFB + landa broke the speeders
turn2
I went first and broke a mob with a warhound, the other went on OW to shield my BTS. Rob dropped a mob back to protect his blitz, scouts assaulted and broke a mob. Landa (with loaded bikes) tried to rebreak the speeders but was criticalled by the tbolts. I concentrated on wiping out broken formations
turn 3 I broke several damaged mobs while Rob dug in round his blitz. Thawks finally wiped out the BTS and Rob put on a mob on OW to protect another objective. My warhound failed to activate to attack that so I dropped the tacs back to spread on my 3 objectives. That gave me 2-0 (BTS and defend the flag), to get 3-0 my scouts assaulted a broken formation in my half making sure the other broken formation in my half was within 15cm (it was only 1 unit) to be killed by the supporting BM.
Rob never really recovered from his BTS being barraged bit still was tough to beat until the landa was shot down.
Game 3 vs Tiny-Tim nids
Tim had a dominatrix, 3 harridans, 2 nests, a teleport formation, stealers and various gaunt swarms.
Started off very bloody with the barrage+pods taking out a nest and a gaunt swarm, the stealers+trygon killing 1 scout formation+breaking another. Most of the rest of the nids marched forward into my half except one that took over from the dead nest as a blitz guard and the dom which refused to move. Termies took out a harridan and the empty thawk finished the stealers. I was worried after this as I'd got too eager with ship at the start which gave away my scouts and put me on the back foot in activation
Tim then managed to go first in turn 2 killing all but 1 speeder and killing a warhound, the tacticals sustained on a harridan breaking it while the 2nd warhound was broken. The dom moved forward to support gaunts assaulting the termies but the gaunts were wiped out.
Turn 3 I was pinned around my blitz with my flyers, 4 temirnators, tacticals, 1 speeder, 1 scout and 2 rhinos. Tim had a lot of activations left but the gaunts were starting to get thinned out. I decided that if I just played defensively I would end up getting ground down so decided to risk CCing the dom with the terminators - 1 termie died for 4 wounds on the dom and the SM took the assault. Tbolts then strafed a harridan killing it. Speeder hid in Tims half After this Tim couldn't make a save. Several gaunt formations broke and the remainin harridans died.
Nids now had a nest on 1 objective, 2 formations on their blitz, various broken formations and 1 intact gaunt formation in my half. Dom crtically didn't rally while all the SM did.
turn 4 I was sure Tim couldn't get TSNP as he couldn't get to my Speeder, whilst I couldn't get to his objecitves. Contesting my blitz and not losing the BTS was the goal now, Tacs assaulted the gaunts on my blitz but lost despite being +4 in the resolution. Now I couldn't win as I could only contest the blitz not clear it while Tims formations weren't powerful enough to clear the terminators on the other objectives or fast enough to threaten the BTS or the LS so I concentrated on finishing small formations for the VPs
Ended up 1800ish-900ish in VPs, one of my most enjoyable games.
