Well, this will be easy, I thought. Well it was not. At first I aimed at creeating 8 "wedges" at the correct angle, but no matter where I looked, I could not find any suitable component to use. I then designed one using 3D design sofware, but then discovered that printing big stuff at shapeways is silly expensive. I then experimented with tape on the backsides, creating a sort of wall ammo belt that would fold, but that did not work either. Finally I came up with using small metal brackets to fix opposing sections at the correct distance (using a lazy webcalculator since I have purged all knowledge of geometry from my puny mind). Having four opposing pairs at the correct distance I could glue a roof on, thereby locking everything in place. I added 3 lengths of plastic strip to cover each "gap" and strengthen the whole structure.
Easy.
And now I am sort of hoping that someone finds out an
intelligent way of doing this using about a tenth of the time I did...
