I really should paint my contagion engines instead of building the city they are about to currupt. But it is so much fun!

Wasteland components in a custom octagon configuration and eleventree 6mm mdf design. Both are truly nifty sets. Now I only need to finish the factory complex, detail, and paint all 9 (4 eleventree, 3 large custom built wasteland, 2 own kitbash design).

Now if I could only find some affordable roads and city tiles that I like...

I don't think eleventree do 6mm as standard. Pity though.

Well folks,

2014 went and we now have a new year. I am pleased to say that this first TOEG exersize have pushed me to reach all but two goals. I dare say that me painting zombies would not have happened without this group. Finally, I managed to enter this years Epicomp, with an entry that seems to have gone down well. Well chuffed about that one, thanks all who voted for my misguided plagueridden homies.

There are a couple of things that did not go exactly as planned. First, I did not finish. I still need to finish my contagions, replace my IG place holders, and finish my GUO. This was due to diversions such as Wastelands wonderful buildings that just had to be built and modded. Lack of time is another one as real world things insisted on happening. And last but not least, Onslaught has just pre-released his Hellborn cultists. I just have to have them and think they are worth waiting for before finishing my last coven.

So in sum, not all goals reached, but still an enjoyable experience. Thank you for all support!

Thanks all. Dakka, the buildings are awaiting painting having been detailed and fixed up to match my 6mm grimdark taste in architecture. Will take pics when I get around to this next step. I am also planning a new army... My first RT Crimson Fists in 6mm. Has been something that needs to be done for quite some time.

Cool. Crimsons are THE Iconic Marines. Nuff said. I hope I wont let you down... I find that the muted dark blue of the proper non-ultra marine fists is hard to get right in small scales. Smaller scales seem punishing in terms of perceived detail when you do dark colours. This probably means radical highlighting, and less dependence on washes then I am used to. The resulting process is likely more time consuming, but I will try to find and efficient yet acceptable quality process in the coming weeks.

Got some VERY nice roads from Game Craft and painted up some test marines. Will try to take some pics soon, as I am unsure of how to proceed with the marines. For nostalgic reasons (my first 40K RT minis ever...) I want to paint crimson fists, but i can't seem to get the dark blue infantry to 'pop'.

edit: and I am also looking for Warhound paint scheme inspiration. Something to contrast yet match the dark armoured smurfs.
