It's great to see these go up just when I'm test painting my first Ork bases. I really like them.

I was wondering, dod you actually paint white in some of the tooth areas?

Also, it seems that you use a black undercoat and deliberately have it show through to show contrast. Is there any reason you paint this way, as coming from 28mm it is a different technique than I'm used to, but I'm thinking I may learn it.

Many thanx Boyz !!!! Yes, I used white for the "teef", I'd rather use an off-white as I'm sure F/Orks don't brush very much ! But I don't feel the off-white would show as well as white. Now for painting these Boyz and painting in general. I this case I base painted the figures in a light gray enamel. Then all the rest of the paints are water based. Then generally using various browns, tans, yellows, etc. ... Colors of furs, leather, skins, etc., paint trousers, boots, shoulder pads etc. each with a different color. Then wash with various colors of GW washes and inks. Then go back to detail and do a little drybrushing. In the process, I do a little "Black Lining" along the seams/edges, etc. using a very pointy brush with a little thinned down flat black ... To continue the bring out the details on the figures. And for detailing the skin I use a very dark green .... Hope that helps ...

Looks good, I like the little conversions everywhere.

Thank U ! The E:A Feral Orks came with the furs, hats, different faces, etc. ... So with these Boyz I did no conversion work. It was a nice touch that GW took the time to change up the standard Ork figures.

Your painting techniques are very different from mine it seems, but I'm definitely going to try some of those ideas out. Plus knowing that someone can paint their teeth convinces me that I should be able to try the same.

Try it out ... for pieces with so much detail, it really brings it out ... I'm working on Feral Ork Nobz now.
