So, what is the statline? 2xthunderbrick? 3x? I think that an armoured aerial assault platform looks inherently weird with a greenhouse canopy. Small heavy set transparencies is my take methinks. Could maybe attempt a cross between SM and Tau, being a bit rounder around the vision ports.

Its got 4DC (as opposed to the 2DC of the thunderhawk) and then carrying capacity of 16 units instead of 8 for the thunderhawk. So literally double. That to mean implies double (ish) the internal size.

Going by the picture the ramp looks wide enough to have a five man squad stood beside each other in a line so if i were making this for epic i'd have the ramp 40mm wide just like a strip base and then scale everything up from there.

I was going off the marines being the out of scale bit. If I did do it using that as a base I thin over all it would be something like 80mm across before the turbines. So in total that would be over 10cm in width. And Im going for wider than it is long. That would give it a mass greater than a warlord.... Seems a bit much to me (I roughly drew it up that size and it just seemed off when I made a paper cutout and put it next to a thunderhawk (I think I chucked it but if I can find it I will take a pic).

I'd go about the same general length but wider. Play up that whole flying dinner plate deal ;D

With aerodynamics and no spin-hab and way smaller and...Well it sort of looks like it when I squint... ::)

Well i'd still prefer a big ass mega dropship instead of an overweight thunderhawk. ;D

But that's just me. :)

Hehe. I cant disagree with the idea of an uber dropship but Im just not sure thats how marines roll. Oh... that would be a cool project (maybe later) a drop-pod for a titan. Now those are in the fluff :p

Ok, not much work got done in work today :p. But I do have a nose to show for it. The rounding (and then modifying it to get it looking like the picture in terms of size) was a bit of a nightmare for someone new to this like me (I bet there is a simpler way to do it as well I just dont know of it!)
Im putting up the artwork so you can see what Im going for (angle is a bit different sorry about that).:

I'd not mirror the top and bottom of the saucer section and instead position / angle them a little lower. Perhaps you have and its the angle

You mean have the bottom half at a different angle to the top?

Yup. A little more of an angle and also drop the flat part where those lights are on the picture more than half way so that the upper surface is the majority. It doesn't look as good when symmetric. Like a 60% / 40% split, if that makes sense.

I think you might be right jimmy but Im going to leave it a bit and see how it grows on me. Also the angle I look at it from makes a huge difference to how I feel about it.

Wanted to continue with some bits that changing the "middle line" wont make any difference to. So Ive gone for the cockpit. I havent got around to putting any surrounds for the different glass panels yet. May leave that till I have done more so I can gauge if its the right size for the mode (no point in having to go it again later if I decide I dont like the cockpit).

This is really neat, see this through to completion. I assume you're going to produce models of this once it's finished?
