The small scale smell of victory. They do look very sturdy indeed. I got some of your competitions stuff a while back, and though they are of thinner material, I would hazard they are quite enough sturdy!

Though I sympathize with your strategy to supply undetailed stuff for scratched upgrading, I do think you could add quite a bit of detail here without loosing that upgradeability. No fan of buttresses, so I am looking forward to your next batch!

OMG!

Welcome back!

I much prefer wood to resin. I find that I dislike working on resin because of the dust. Sawdust is easy to clean up, and doesn't make me worry that little kitty is breathing it all in! (plus the smell is fantastic!)

I hope there will be some gothic style in the future, or even plasti card add ons!

I take it it will be less time consuming for you to make up over the resin pieces!

These are crying out to be wired up and lit up!

I NEED THEM! ;)

@ Nitpick - you are right that 2mm is quite adequate and sturdy, i just wanted it to be that little bit more so, plus 3mm is the thickness of the resin building kits. There will be some with detail, just at this moment this is what I had been asked to do for a few people :). The non buttress set will be out in January.

@Rex - cheers, yes, some people asked for the resin kits in mdf as they didn't want to deal with resin, so i started doing these. They do take less time to make, though cost isn't too different to be honest, unless I made 100s at one go. The mdf commissions took off better than the resin kits to be honest.

The Cathedral is half complete design wise (with etched detailing) and the gothic buildings are designed (same as these but with gothic arches...surprise surprise ). The City Enforcers Precinct will be here early next week. One chap has installed LEDs in one of the buildings, after covering up the windows with some stained glass patterned transparency paper. Ive asked for some photos of it. So lots in the pipeline for January

yes, this is exactly what I was thinking. I was going to add plastic sheeting and then pop in one of the hundreds of flickering candles I have picked up over the years.

Will there be Space orc/deep desert dwellings made in the future?

Cant wait till next year now. I will def be picking some up. Just gives me enough time to explain to mrs rex that we need more unpainted buildings in the back room! ;D

I guess that would probably work just as well as LEDs mate. The solid cast resin pieces with hex roof that can be seen a couple of pages back in this thread, along with smaller dwellings of similar design will also be available as laser cut kits. Desert dwellings may be available around Spring time if all goes well :)

Mate, I have to convince Mrs +Psypher+ that all the resin and wood mess and hours spent on CAD is all for the greater good :)

Cheers Markconz

So here is the City Enforcers Precinct..... sorry for poor photos again!

Hopefully next week I'll have 2 sets of different buildings and their ruined versions up too...which have etched detail on them :)

Great idea. A bit more fine detail around e.g. windows and it is likely a done deal.

I have a massive issue with this- I'm throwing money at the screen but nothing is happening! :D

That is actually just what I had in mind when I first read 'enforcers precinct'!!

I will NEED these! They fit in with the GW stuff I have made this weekend, and they would look even better in a 6mm mega city one! In fact, I have some left over plastic that will pimp this right out!

Will there be a peachtree towers to go along with it? :D

Do you think there will wooden roads (and accessories) in the future?

Cheers. For now, this will be left as it is. It will be part of the standard buildings for scratch builders to have fun with. There will be another series of the same buildings, but with a little etched detail, however they will be way in the future I think :)

At the minute lifes way way too hectic to update the website that I'm gratefully getting built for me, so they won't be on there until the new year now. However, if there is anything you desperately want, drop me a line and we can have a chat :)

Peachtree towers eh?? hmmmmm <looks through piles of CAD drawings> yeah, I'm sure there is a drawing here that might just fit the bill :)

Roads will probably be resin for now, although I'm planning on 300x300mm MDF tiles, again its something for the future. So January is probably going to be a busy time. The buildings will be in a set of four and then sold individually. The Enforcers Precinct, Cathedral etc will also be separate pieces.
