Well at first I wasn't because I thought I'd get mad with such a massive army. I bought enough infantry for 3 companies plus grenadiers. I have changed my mind though and will do it for select formations. The regular inf will probably just get plain EA bases.

OK so I'm not able to show much progress, as I'm still waiting for my infantry stuff to arrive from the last crowdfunder which is frustrating. I started working on the bases for some grenadiers. They're set up to form a small diorama. The grenadiers are supposed to look like they're making a determined assault across a contested road in a city fight. They will be moving from right to left in the pictures.
I've added a few adversaries on left most bases, which will be mutants, cultist and renegades (it would be fun to make a corresponding LatD army at some point).

Great work, Borka! The overlapping joints are a neat idea.

They look a bit silly when not together, but I didn't like how the pavement of the sidewalk turned out by the right most house.

Are you enjoying diorama basing? :)
Definitely do! I used to do diorama bases for my units in 28 mm scale. Never really thought about it for 6mm until I saw your stuff. :)

Interesting! Is the goal to have 6x4 of diorama bases ultimately across all the armies so you have a fully scenic table? :)

Pretty cool!

When you do a corresponding LatD army you should start their basing scheme from the edge of this one so they can go together in one massive scene!

This is amazing. I really love this approach to basing 6mm.

Where did you get those tiny cars?

I know you think they don't look great separated because of the sticking out bits, but I think it works fine. Those bottom parts will be painted black, so it will just look like mini displays.

That would be really cool, but no I don't think so. I have no inclination to rebase the armies I've already done. I'd like to do corresponding armies though. I have yet to do an eldar army, but would like to do that at some point. They will be based on a djungletheme to fight my nids. :)

exactly my thinking :D
I'm not sure I have the stamina to make all 5 x covens this way though.

You have to do at least one coven like it though, too cool not too!

Would you be kind enough to grab a photo or two of the cars next too some minis when you have a spare 5 mins. I have been toying with ordering these very ones, but the same seller has actual 1:300 scale ones but I think they will be too small, and they need a lot of work to paint detail on. If these ones are a better fit then I will order a few hundred off them!

I want to make a road section based on the abandoned highway from the walking dead books (but with a sci fi feel!) and an abandoned multi-storey car park. I thought a few hundred of them would sufficient! :)

I do love that its starting to become more and more common to do epic bases for epic scale minis! Its really starting to show up its larger scale versions!!
