This looks like a common codex marines list. If you drop one of the devs and replace them with termis you will have the "standard" marines list... ;)

:sos :D

If you're going to fork out for a LR dev formation, don't cripple their movement as well!

Hmm, don't forget the use of Landing craft, which could deploy that 'heavy weapons' Dev formation anywhere usefull - like near the T&H objective of choice, or in position to provide Fire support.

Yeah you can do some very very fun things with Landing Craft (especially above 3k). They also can block LOS, being a WE, so you can put out some interesting deployment to reduce counter fire (even if it means sacrificing the LC)

It is still deliberately hobbled though...

At the very least don't hobble the land raiders, and get a bit more transport it.

You have to drop a dred, but how about...

Quote:
Tactical [275, 100, 75, 25, 150] [625] BTS & SC
6 Tac, Rhino, Supreme Commander, Hunter, Razorback, 2 Land Raider

DEVASTATOR [350]
4 Devastators, 2 Dreadnought

DEVASTATOR [350]
4 Devastators, 2 Dreadnought

So one less dred, but now your bts can move as otherwise it is just a bts guard and a points sink. It is also more survivable having 2 more models in the formation.

Another option is

Quote:
Terminator [500] BTS
4 Terminators, 1 Chaplain (in a dred? :) )2 Dreadnought

Landing Craft [350]

Devastator (325)
4 Devastators, 2 Rhino, 1 hunter
Would have been with the theme to replace rhinos with dreds and have a hunter garrison but need 100 more points...

DEVASTATOR [350]
SCOUT [175]
SCOUT [175]
LAND SPEEDER [200]
THUNDERHAWK [200]
WARHOUND [275]
WARHOUND [275]
THUNDERBOLT SQUADRON [175]

Thanks for the advice!

Everybody seems quite concerned with the mobility of that command unit. The way I figure - all the other units in this list are very flexible and have good movement. So I'm not to bothered that this unit may be hampered by the dreads. Every unit has its role.

I'm hoping to get in a battle or three in the beginning of next year, we'll see how it works then :)

It does have a role - just not a very good one! Instead of adding Land Raiders how about save some points for another dreadnaught in the dev formation by getting vindicators instead of land raiders? Currently you are paying a lot of points for armoured mobility you can't use.

Or even just drop the landraiders and have a landing craft instead of a thunderhawk! Tacticals, 2 dreds, 3 rhinos, 1 hunter. Could even switch a scout razorback in as well. Airdrop the formation in... Could put the hunter into a dev/dred/hunter formation that can garrisson forward. In fact there I would drop the SC, put the hunter and an extra dred into the dev with only 1 dred, and landing craft in a tac formation with 2 dreds, 3 rhinos and a chaplain. Scouts lose a razorback though.

How about dropping the T-hawks for a landing craft, garrisson both Dev/Dread formations and flying in 6 tacticals, 2 dreads, hunter and 3 landraiders in the landing craft? (would need to lose the supreme commander though) :-\

You would lose an activation to do it though - I would just make the BTS cheaper and upgrade a thunderhawk to landing craft. In your idea though, does the codex list let you mix land riaders and rhinos on a landing craft?
