@Mattman do you have any stats for the land raider super heavies Typhon, Spartan and Cerebus?

The only one I had drafted for my stats was the Spartan. I have assumed the stats we currently have will be used for the Land Raider Proteus and included a new set for the Phobus to take into account that it is a slower vehicle and has an assault ramp.

This is what they currently look like:

Assault Vehicle is a new special rule I am introducing to cover the fact that marines can charge out the front of a modern Land Raider. Currently it does something like "A stand disembarking from an assault vehicle does not receive the normal -5cm disembarking penalty" or something similar.
Currently I have the Spartan with 4 AD for its quad twin linked lascannons, but as a mentioned above, I could see the To Hit going down to 4+ or the TSM to -3, but since this is meant to be a Super Heavy, this could be one of the reasons that you can get away with multiple AD (and it has hardly any other weapons).

I hadn't looked at the Typhoon and Cerberus previously, but a quick look at what they do and I think something like this wouldn't be to far off.

The Cerberus is armed with a Neutron Laser Projector which supposedly has the same capabilities as a Titan Turbo Laser, so I just used the same stats, but it suffers from feedback problems, so I gave it another rule I am bringing in called Overload (I was planning on using it or something similar on the Land Raider Terminus Ultra). Basically whenever it fires and you roll a 1 to hit, it causes a hit on itself with TSM.

The Typhon carries a Dreadhammer Cannon which is supposed to be an uprated version of the Thunderer on the Vindicator. So I upped the range a little, gave it the same To Hit, but made it a barrage weapon and increased the TSM slightly.
I also upped the CAF compared to the other Land Raiders as it is meant to be a hulking beast and can cause more damage when it rams.
But then with the Spartan and Cerberus being Super Heavies to, I could easily see their CAF going to +4 and the Cerberus going to +5.

Hope that helps.

Matt

Best change my silhouette to a Proteus ;).

The land raiders are looking good, I like the new rules especially assault transport. Look forward to seeing them complete with points, already got the silhouette ready :)

Mattman,

Have you seen what Fattdex is doing with the EA HH list. We have been play testing this for about a year now a making some good progress. The stats may be of use to you guys for Net Epic HH. Link here http://www.wargamerau.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=157032&st=40

@Magnus
Appreciate that the pointing system under gold is structured this way, but it doesn't mean it has to work that way under platinum. As long as all the army lists use the same system (whatever we choose) then it should be balanced.
I suspect it is buried in a forum post somewhere, but can you send me the details of the formula you are using to calculate the points (stands and formations) and I will have a bash at seeing what I can do with my formations.
Cheers.

Matt

Not just fun, but a bit de ja vu ;) Those look sweet. Though just be careful when using images from GW, they sometimes don't like it ::) .
Several years ago I thought about remaking the army cards that we used to have in 2nd Ed Epic and making their size that of a CCG card (Pokemon, Magic etc), although I didn't get very far, this is one of the ones I cobbled together:

I didn't have access to any fancy software and I am not exactly artistic, but they turned out alright.
Let us know how you get on with putting some of the rest of the formations onto cards, especially the variable sized ones as a lot of people were very interested in having something like this available in their games of Epic again, so whatever you learn while doing it for your Heresy project, I am sure we can make use of it for NEP.

Cool Mattman, like the second one and it is probably the direction I would go for a company card. The information is a squeeze with a detachment, I think 2 sided is the best for a company card due to the amount of info it has to hold.

No cease and desist yet from GW, fingers crossed :)

Johnboyire don't have anything finalised as a template, but I have seen some E:A cards before I'll see if I can find them.
I am not up to speed with armageddon but it has upgrades to units, I personally don't think that is really compatible with a card system. I will happily be proved wrong though

These are great - i know the NetEpic and some of the bigger SM2 official cards have the unit stats on them, but its nice to give them a bit of panache like this!

Plus - in the few games i've had recently with the missus her biggest complaint is all the time spend looking for units in the charts in the rule books and supplements, this could make things a lot smoother!

That cannot be the most recent version, as it should be a NotePad document, not a writer one. The following is the most recent document. Well, I cannot attach the file, as TacCom won't take a .txt file.

The most recent posted version of the system can be found in "The Great Points Formula Debate!" thread of the "Alternate Rules" board, on page 10, the sixth and seventh posts down from the top. HOWEVER, these posts do not contain the tweaks that I am currently putting the lists through, so they are not entirely up-to-date. The posts are what the "base" values mentioned in the tweak runs are calculated from, so this is a good starting point.

I like the "Asssault" ability. I'll have to get that a modifier, either in the Transport costs sub-system or just to the base vehicle.

Magnus I just copied and pasted from the forum into a word doc for the benefit of Mattman so he didn't have to trawl through. I've been using it to estimate the cost for world eater formations like the rampagers and red butchers.

Okay, will have a look. Just want to crunch some numbers for the variable sized formations.

I thought the Assault Vehicle special rule was a relatively simple addition and there are plenty of other vehicles that it can be applied to, not just Land Raiders.
