Okay here's another dumbass question.
if ?a megachoppa's titan killer abilities only apply to the extra attack, (assuming I'm reading the rules right) is there any real reason to include one if they are not sure of getting into combat?
A regular gargant kicks out with a solid eight attacks at 3+ in assualt. Taking a mega choppa relies on getting into base contact and reduces your firepower slightly. Mounting a huge chainsaw on a gargant is undeniably cool, but is it a good trade off for firepower?
At least a lifta-droppa doesn't have this problem.

The mega chopper is only worthwhile if you're sure you can get into base-to-base contact.
As you mentioned, the lifta dropper is a better deal, its basically a zzap gun and mega chopper in one.

Hi!
I was wondering when it was going to be noted that I'm the "greeter" for these boards.
Its a habit I have from the net epic list.
I like newbies to feel welcome!

Well I finally managed to get a copy of the Epic Armageddon rulebook...
This sounds like I was desperate to get a copy and that I had searched high and low! Well the reality was when the rulebook came out I did try and get a copy, but my local GW had none in stock (allegedly they had sold them to all the staff). I know I could have purchased a copy by Mail Order, but when I did my last GW Mail Order I got some fantasy orcs instead!
Today I popped into one of my local GW stores and they had a few copies, so I thought oh go on get a copy, so I did.
It is really really nicely put together and I was impressed.
What was also nice was that I was only charged ?20 (rather than the list price of ?25).
The manager complained as too many people were buying it and he was having to order more copies!
A friend of mine (in a different GW store) was initially charged ?40, then ?60 came up on the till before eventully he was charged ?20 also!

It sounds great, and I cant wait to see it.
But I'm waiting for later mini release that I want (Valks etc) so I can get it all in one hit and so only pay the rather expensive o/s shiping cost once.
BTW is there a definitive list anywhere of what is newly resculpted and what is simply a rerun of the e40k models?

I haven't seen a list, but from the pics in the rule book I can make one
The following are new models:
Space marines:
SM bikes (sort of, I think they are attack bikes minus the sidecar with the holes filled in) Land speeders Land speeder tornados Land speeder typhoons predator annihilators predator destructors vindicators rhinos razorbacks (one with twin lascannons, one with twin heavy bolters) whirlwinds land raiders hunters landing craft drop pods
Imperial Guard:
Imperial guard support squad storm troopers valkyires vultures Sentinels Leman russ vanquishers Basilisks
Titan legions:
Warhound titans
Orks:
oddboyz soopaguns deth koptas battlewagonz battlefortress killa kanz Stompas Supa stompas landas
Everything else is a re-release. Mostly Epic40K models, and a few older models brought back (reaver titans, the various ork gunwagonz etc).
The following infantry were re-casts of old models in metal:
SM scouts SM terminators Ork warbikes Rough riders
Also the re-released Epic 40k gargants have a few extra bits in the boxes compared to the orginal version, the bits allow for all the weapon combinations possible with the rulebook army list.

Quote (Jimbo @ 28 2004 Feb.,22:43) | What was also nice was that I was only charged ?20 (rather than the list price of ?25). | This irritates me no end. A load of stores have been selling the book at ?20. However, I advanced ordered my copy, showed my support this way, and got charged ?25.
Why cant GW get a simply thing like the absolute price of a simply book right? Maybe I should shop around in future and not just buy something from GW.

i just got mine today aswell. ?20 from a GW store. They are selling faster than their getting them in. Great news. I was mightily impressed with the layout and look of the book. Best rulebook i think GW have done. In the credits at the front there was also a specialmention of our very own Maksim and Tuffskull. Think Neal Hunts name was in there too. Didn't recognise any of the others.

Thanks again C/F, good intell ! ?That is what I figured in most cases. ?I thought the basic Land Speeder was the E40K version ? ?Can't wait until the US E:A release and as I said I will be selling my extras ... so let me know your want lists Darkone, Maksim, Tas, ?(in alphabetical order ! To be fair and balanced !), etc. ?

I had to pay 25 quid from GW on Oxford street a few days after it was released. It is a little frustrating to know that other shops are selling the book for less.
I was in GW Lakeside today, they have no display of Epic at all.
Still if it is selling well, that bodes well for future releases plus support from other companies...

Quote (Legion 4 @ 29 2004 Feb.,15:30) | I thought the basic Land Speeder was the E40K version ? | Nah the Epic40K land speeder looked quite different (like the old land speeders in 2nd edition WH40K).
The E:A land speeder is like the one in 3rd edition WH40K.
