It appears as more G/W "Fluff Confusion", they have been doing this for years. A definitive work on the subject would be nice but no sooner would it be in print, then it would change. I've seen this happen too many times before in the past. But like Primarch says, the rules you use with your gaming clan, should be the "official" rules. As I posted here months ago, I have a Genestealer Cult based on Very, very old fluff and an old CJ, IIRC. That works for us. So if it works for you and your crew ... go for it !

Hi!
People can also just further the timeline on GW fluff to take the universe down different paths, like the emperor dying, the birth of the star child or many others.
Its only limited by your imagination and of course time....

I just looked on Irregulars site and they have skeletons in 6mm. ?Anyone know what they look like? ?They might make decent stand-ins for warriors anyway.
This is my first post here BTW. ?Nice site!

Hi!
In my opinion they dont look, but I am not a fan of irregular in general. They look bloby to me.
The absolute best proxies would be old epic chaos androids, but they're a pain to find.

I don't think that the Irregular skeletons look good as Necrons either.
I also prefer the chaos androids as rank n'file Necrons and Reaper CAV power armor troopers for some of the other Necron troop types.
I still haven't looked at JJ's "official" Necron presentation yet though. I've been pretty busy with work and a new girlfriend.
I have written a number of threads about creating/using Necron proxy models and have even tried making masters for a Necron Cube/Pyramid/Monolith.
T5H has expressed an interest in posting my conversion ideas on his new site, but I've just been too bust to get around to it yet. He's a good guy and his efforts never seem to cease.
I was one of the first Necron E-A list writers, but I haven't been interested in publicly airing my list especially now that JJ has "officialy" posted a playtest list. A big part of the reason is tat JJ has hoped to minimize rules to govern Necron ability and it was near impossible to guess what he finds acceptable. I'm looking forward to seeing how he has solved the Necron list without overencumbering it with rules.
Take care and Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

Prmarch,
Why so shy with your army list ideas Maksim? |
I didn't want to deal with the peanut gallery and enjoyed writing the list and building a proxy army just for the fun of doing it. I still need to download JJ's list and see how it compares with mine.
I also still have a little bit of burn from my ideas that I proposed for E-A that got "borrowed" and credited to others.
Ultimately, I can't wait until the Necrons become a regular E-A core list.
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

Hi!
Hmm...so some of your ideas got "lifted"?
Bummer, I can understand then.
Once bitten, twice shy.

That is too bad Maksim, but I too look forward to the Necrons... and at least you have a new gal! ?
It will be years before they are released, short of some major change...

Hi!
I wish they would decide to release armies that didn't exsist beforehand.
But its fair that other armies for people who have been waiting for a long time get released first.

Thanks Legion for the welcome and hello everyone! ?I've been cruising the board ever since I found the speed painted IG diary. ?Nicely done! ?I painted about 2000 pts of Imperial Fists in about 2 weeks when I started Epic 40k. But anyone can do that.
Back to the topic at hand, proxies. ?I suggested Irregular because they're the only ones I know who make 6mm skeletons. ?I know Irregular have a certain reputation when it comes to quality but I hear they paint up OK.
Once I saw Audrey's Deathwheel I decided to start an Iron Warriors army in her color scheme (Is that Ok, Audrey?) so I'm just going to use them as stand-ins for Necrons. ?
Marines ? ? ? ?=> ? Warriors Termies ? ? ? ?=> ? Pariahs Berzerkers ? ? => ? ?Flayed Ones Small rocks ? ?=> ? Scarabs (paint job should do it) ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? => ? Wraiths ? ? ? ? ? ? ?? ? ?=> ??Tomb Spiders ? ? ? ? ? ? ?? ? ?=>? ?Destroyers Scratchbuild ?=> ??Monolith Scratchbuild ?=> ??Pylon

Navy2Af,
I'll try to find my Necron conversion ideas list and post it here for you.
One of the ideas that I've played with is using Clikkie Tech Mechwarrior (MW) figures as proxies. I cut them off of their bases and rebase them on pennies or other non-Clikkie bases and... voila! Some of the MW powered armor look really good as dreadnoughts and the like. Some of them have skull-like heads and would look good in a Necron army especially with a unified paint scheme.
Shabbat Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

Well Navy, Tas is an Aussie LCDR in the RAN, so you will be hearing from him, I'm sure! ?
As far as Necrons, since I have so much to do on my other 9 Epic Armies...
I'll wait for G/W or F/W to release them! ?
And I don't have a problem if like the Tau & Kroot, they have a limited and reasonable amount of units. I've always said, the IG, Orks, and even the SMs have too much stuff! Much of it redundant, IMO!
